I was tough on the guy but I wanted to be the first to thank Former President George Bush for his service. He gave of himself to serve this nation and did what he thought was best. Now I pray the Lord continues to keep you in His caring arms and watches over you the rest of your days.
Thanks You...

He made mistakes... but I am thankful that he was our president. The thing is, Obama will make mistakes too. Believe it or not...

Yes, Thank you President Bush. . .

I agree with the above.

Yes, I hope the Lord protects him, and I hope G.W. Bush has a mansion waiting for him in heaven. But I cannot thank him for the last two years. He personally set the conservative movement back at least 28 years.

Then you like him ? Agree with his actions ?

I was critical with Mr. Bush's policies when I needed to be. However I don't think I ever thought he was a bad person. In fact I happen to think his father, George H.W. Bush, was one of the best Presidents of the modern era. Not just because of his policies but because of his belief in and support of his family. He is a real proud father and it shows. George W Bush got my vote in '00 and '04. I came to disagree with several of his choices but I agreed with him more than I disagreed with him. I also think many people are critical of him for things over which he had little/no control. I am sure he has been looking forward to this day and I pray that his retirement is peaceful and productive.
The lack of civility by many people in the crowd was disturbing. Chanting Obama at the inauguration ceremony is unacceptable. Also mocking the current President (Bush) was a grand display of many people's lack of respect for our country and the Presidency. People in this country need to learn some manners, respect, and civility. -
I liked President Bush even when I disagreed with him which happened more than I liked. The crowd booing and hissing - such distastefulness, but we have seen a downward cycle of disrespect for others.
When in Rome I suppose. -

I agree with you, there. I don't like Bill Clinton, but I couldn't be disrespectful of him, in person. In this nation, we have really become boorish.

Thank You!

BTW, my comments in parentheses are directed to Revmitchell. -
I have always been respectful of the Office of the President of the United States, even though some who have held that position have not shown proper respect for it.
I hope this president will respect the office he holds and approaches his responsibilities seeking God's face with humility. He is responsible now and Laura finally has her husband back. I wish them blessings, peace, and health. -

The removal of God from our society leads to the destruction of the nation.
Dragonfly, you don't like what he did, but do like the results ? I don't get it. -
I really don't need your personal attack and condescending remarks. How many times did you pray for President Bush?
I have prayed for the new president BTW and posted it in another thread in the News forum. I pray President and Obama and his supporters will be convicted about the grevious sin of abortion, of destroying the life God says He knew before that life was formed in the womb.
I also pray that President Obama and his supporters will have a life changing experience to know God in an intimate way like never before. In fact, I pray that for all of us.
Thank you for your post, LB. It was a wonderful opportunity for me to add to my prayer for our new president!
Now can we please get back on topic. Do you have any kind words of gratitude for our Former President, GW Bush? -
Half of all Russians want Stalin back and Hitler would get the vote in Germany. Half of all Americans would vote a 3rd term for Bush.

You may have put up the most astoundingly ignorant post in the history of the BB. Perhaps a third-grade history book and a rudimentary course in logic would be beneficial.
