What of the love, will, nature, and attributes of God and his reason for creating, sustaining, and saving mankind? Did he do it because he was lonely and needed companionship? Why did God create the world and man?
Revelation 4:11 KJV
11
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Proverbs 16:4 KJV
4
The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
I was made to love you
I was made just for you, made to adore you
I was made to love and be loved by you
You were here before me, you were waiting on me
And you said you'd keep me, never would you leave me
I was made to love and be loved by you
I'm so glad God doesn't think like I do.
If I had the power to create a being so I could love them, for my pleasure and glory and I knew before I breathed life into my creature that they would reject me; that their rejection would cost me my only beloved and begotten Son.
If I knew in advance the rotting foul shame heaped on the shoulders of my Son because of my creatures...
It the most literal sense they would just have to go to hell.
Even as a recipient of Grace I still stand amazed by it.
Aaron, I'm sorry we missed wrangling about deer hunting this year but you're on to something here.
I don't think we can say there was just a single reason why God created us.
I'm thinking about all the verses cited so far and the picture is clear.
Everything is connected, clear and concise from Genesis to Revelation bound together by a blood-red cord of continuity.
God calls that cord Son and we call Him Savior.
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost. Luke 19:10 KJV
