I enjoy Southern Gospel music(especially quartets), and also some Country and Bluegrass Gospel. I haven't really found any CCM and Christian Rock that I like so far.

Annsni,
What is this "iPod" thing you speak of?
Acually, I know what they are, but I dont have one. I have no interest whatsoever in them, or any of the other things that are like them.
I am perfectly happy with my CD's. I cant find any good reason to spend hundreds of dollars to "download" all my music (as if I knew how to "download ), when I already have my music on CD's
And I consider albums to be far superior to listening to just "songs" anyway. A song is just a song. An album is a statement. An artistic statement. An album is something you can sink your teeth into.
My portable CD player works fantastic! And I have a portable one with ear buds that I use sometimes at work or when I am bicycling or walking. -

First of all, there is the convenience of being able to carry literally thousands of CDs, radio shows, TV shows, etc, on a device roughly the size of a business card.
Second, we live so far out in the country that we don't get good radio reception, so the only way I can hear shows like Glenn Beck and many of the preachers I like is to download them onto my ipod.
Third, I travel a lot and the games are great for breaking up the monotony.
Fourth, I can easily arrange all of my music into playlists so that I have instant acess to a playlist for any occasion. Whether it's for laying by the pool, going out on the boat, working around the house or in the gym, romantic times with my wife, or whatever, all I have to do is plug it in.
Not saying you have to have an ipod (like I said, I would never have gone out and gotten one, myself), but you sound kind of negative about them and I don't think you realize all of the advantages they have. -
I honestly don't own an iPod but the rest of my family does (including my 8 year old who got a hand-me-down old style Shuffle when DH got his Nano because I didn't want it). But DH has a Nano - and then he got a iTouch free when we bought my daughter her laptop (she already had a Nano and since she had the laptop, she agreed to give the iTouch to DH) so he keeps his Nano at home. For Christmas last year, we replaced my old radio/cassette player in the kitchen with an iHome that can hold the Nano and, I have to say, I really like it. I have it set to shuffle so I can just turn on my own kind of music at any time without turning on the stereo. You can upload all of your CDs onto the iPod and then you have your entire library of hundreds of CDs in a package the size of a slice of cheese. We've also downloaded podcasts of pastors we really like and listen to them together at times and I've been walking listening to the messages too.
I certainly don't use the iPod the way the kids do (aka - ALL THE TIME) but it's certainly pretty handy to have around. :) -
Annsni...
I thought it was "download"?
If there is an "upload" now then I no more know how to do that then to "download".
I just put my CD in, then hit "play" :wavey:

Download is something you get off the computer. Upload is something you put into the computer.
And there you have everything I know about computers. -
Bluegrass gospel music. In fact, on months that have five Saturdays(such as this past Saturday) I devote my entire WWB radio show to nothing but bluegrass gospel, and bluegrass gospel tunes are always included in my show on a weekly basis.
-
For example if you see a free program you like on the internet, you can download it to your computer. But let's say you want to post personal photos you have on your computer on the internet, then you need to upload them from your computer to a host like Photobucket. -

Mark me as another "NOT a fan of Southern Gospel." I like those already mentioned, and...

The Christian music that I like? Here is one of my all-time favorite hymns.
It is the famous hymn sung all over Wales during the Welsh Revival - here are the words.
And here is where you can here it sung... you got to hear it.

LOVE VAST AS THE OCEAN
Here is love vast as the ocean
Loving kindness as the flood
When the Prince of life, our ransom
Shed for us His precious blood
Who His love will not remember?
Who can cease to sing His praise?
He can never be forgotten
Throughout Heaven's eternal days
On the Mount of Crucifixion
Fountains opened deep and wide
Through the floodgates of God's mercy
Flowed a vast and gracious tide
Grace and love, like mighty rivers
Poured incessant from above
And Heaven's peace and perfect justice
Kissed a guilty world in love
Let us all His love accepting
Love Him ever all our days
Let us seek His Kingdom only
And our lives be to His praise
He alone shall be our glory
Nothing in the world we see
He has cleansed and sanctified us
He Himself has set us free
In His truth He does direct me
By His Spirit through His Word
And His grace my need is meeting
As I trust in Him, my Lord
All His fullness He is pouring
In His love and power in me
Without measure
Full and boundless
As I yield myself to Thee -

- Oh, now I see the cleansing wave!
The fountain deep and wide;
Jesus, my Lord, mighty to save,
Points to His wounded side.- Refrain:
The cleansing stream I see, I see!
I plunge, and, oh, it cleanseth me!
Oh, praise the Lord, it cleanseth me!
It cleanseth me, yes, cleanseth me.
- Refrain:
- I see the new creation rise,
I hear the speaking blood;
It speaks, polluted nature dies,
Sinks ’neath the cleansing flood. - I rise to walk in Heav’n’s own light,
Above the world and sin,
With heart made pure and garments white,
And Christ enthroned within. - Amazing grace! ’tis Heav’n below
To feel the blood applied,
And Jesus, only Jesus know,
My Jesus crucified.
- Oh, now I see the cleansing wave!
-
My favorite Hymn is "How Firm a Foundation"...

Thanks to WretchedRadio.com, I've recently discovered Sonseed. Now that's some hip Christian music, right there. ((JDF sings "Jesus is a Friend of Mine" as he walks away...))

I'm going to put on some Veggie Tales or something to make sure I don't get that in my head!
