TO THE COMMON GROUND COFFEE HOUSE #26

commonlogo.jpg

FREE FOOD AND DRINKS...GOOD FELLOWSHIP!

I will try to be here to serve you; but if not, feel free to help yourself.

First one in every morning puts the coffee on, last one out at night turns the lights off...

We serve donuts, cinnamon toast (dry toast available upon request), crumpets, bagels, scones, croissants, brioche rolls, yogurt, salads, light lunches, popsicles, ice cream, homemade cookies and homemade pies, and homemade jams.

We also serve coffee (with caffeine and without), hot chocolate, hot tea, iced tea, fresh squeezed lemondade and orange juice, cappucino, Mountain Dew, DP, DDP, Coke, Pepsi, Diet Sierra Mist, milk, milk shakes and Kool-Aid.

As a special treat for the holidays, we have added homemade Eggnog to the menu!

If you don't see your drink or food of choice...just ask, we will do our best to stock it for you!

Our aim is to please...come and sit a spell, enjoy the fellowship and come back often! As Christians, we are ALL on common ground...

Hi all: Just got done with my afternoon shift at 'the corner'. It is still drizzling rain and still FOGGY!

Kitchen table finally fell apart last week (don't know why, it is only 50 years old!). I lucked out though. Found one on ebay! A red one with a nice wide leaf and six chairs.

It is from the 50's like my other one. My kitchen is red and black (and 50's), so it will match the kitchen beautifully and give us a lot more seating AND eating space.

Hubby is picking it up in Chicago tomorrow so we don't have to pay S&H (which would be much more than the cost of gas to pick it up).

Here is a picture of it - WITHOUT the leaf in...

Not bad for $100.00!!!!!!!!!!

Looks good, but I saw one at Salvation Army for a lot less!!

Seriously, it is GREAT to see that, Sue.

Just got back from the Clinic (did the November sales tax - grrrr) and then stopped by the store to buy some meat and spaghetti squash. Have a crock of good sauce acookin' but on this diet I can't have pasta, bread, potato, rice, etc

Anyone else roll your eyes when you think of wonderful spaghetti sauce WASTED on squash??

Well, Dr.B! Would you have delivered the table to me from Wyoming??? :D

I LOVE spaghetti squash! Believe me, when you've done without pasta for awhile and you get real hungry for spaghetti, that squash is gonna taste YUMMY!

Of course, it WOULD taste better with garlic bread!

Anybody still awake here? I talked to Gib for about an hour this afternoon! What a nice guy! He said to say hi. He won't be able to get online tonight he didn't think. He's got a pretty intense training from 8-2 tomorrow and then driving home.

THEN.. we went to the Scholastic Warehouse sale in Kennesaw which is over an hour away. I got $142.00 worth of books and computer (educational) games for Nick for ... ta da.... $38.00 and that included TAX! They had a bunch of free items but they were Harry Potter type things so we didn't take them. (17 books, 4 computer games and 1 recorder for $38.12)

Dr. Bob! If there is one near you... they have a LOT of Star Wars books, stickers, etc. that would make a great present for Grif Dog!

Hey Sue... I like the table and chairs! Neat!

Thanks Diane!

I can't wait to get it since our other table collapsed! It will go sooo great with the Campbell Soup Kids theme in the kitchen and it is in perfect condition!

I am going to watch some TV and do some more crocheting. I started taking Vitamin C today, hope it helps!

Pleasant dreams all!

I'll probably have forgotten how to do it by morning. Brain is like that some days.

Most days.

Have a restful night, Mark. Don't worry about things at the Coffee House. I'm keeping the ol' pot-belly stoked

And the stove, too.

Be sure you all keep quiet for a while... Dr. Bob is sleeping in the corner... Hush... He came by last night, sat down on a chair, and fell asleep right then and there. Please don't wake him up!

Good Morning All!

Barnabas: My cold isn't gone, but it hasn't gone into bronchitis either, so I am OK with that!

Dr.B: Only YOU could find a "Wyoming Santa" picture!

It is raining again this morning, supposed to turn into a mix later today and get cold and windy. It's a little awkward carrying a stop sign in one hand and an umbrella in the other!

Good Morning Watchman!

It must be heading our way, we are supposed to have that this afternoon and evening!

I am off to the 'corner' now with my trusty umbrella (hope the wind doesn't turn it inside out)!

Hubby is leaving for Chicago sometime this morning. He will be going across the Interstate from Ohare Airport, so we're not sure what kind of traffic he will encounter. He will probably be driving back in snow tonight.

I will check in later today.

Thankful

Well, we are finally over our shock from losing to Kansas State, but how can we still be #1. Something to ponder.

Also, we didn't blow away, but we sure thought that we would. I can't remember it being this windy this time of year, but we had gusts to over 45 mph last night. Actually, it blew all the snow away.

May everyone have a wonderful day. This is my cleaning house day....maybe.

Good Morning all! It must be windy all over! We've got 30 mph winds and some rain this morning. At least it's 50° so not too cold.

Speaking of colds... I'll be so glad when this one is gone.

Well I've got to make a great big snowman and some other things for AWANA. Tonight is our last meeting until mid January so we're having a Christmas party for our Cubbies! I'm doing the games and stories and a fun craft. My helper is bringing some cupcakes.

Talk to you all later,
Diane

It's supposed to rain here today - it's still fall - winter doesn't start for a few days.

Good Morning Dan, Betty and Diane;

Diane; Have you ever made snowmen out of marshmallows! That would be an easy craft for AWANA (and cheap).

I am off to scrub and wax my kitchen floor while there are no table and chairs in there. Will be getting my new one this evening...can hardly wait!

Dan: Wouldn't it be great to get paid for a job where you were almost always wrong?
