Good evening, everybody!!

Went to my S.S. class party this afternoon and it was GREAT!! There were about 15 of us there, and we had such a good time!! We get really crazy when we're outside of our S.S. room at church!!

Diane... I'm kinda the same way about our church's Christmas music. I keep asking what's wrong with good old Christmas carols??

But last year, our choir did new Christmas music one Sunday night. Don't remember the name of it but it was gorgeous! (All the songs were new to me, but it was really good.) Tomorrow night, they're doing "Hope Has Come"...again, I probably won't recognize any of the songs, but it's supposed to be really beautiful music. So, I'm sure I'll go!

I have lots of Christmas CD's with all the songs of Christmas that I know...I listen to those all the time, at home and in the car, so I guess I hear enough of it that I can hear something new ONE night!!

Betty... the OU/Kansas St. game really WAS sad, and believe it or not, I WASN'T laughing! They had played so good this season, it was sad to see them fall apart like they did. (That's easy for me to say since they weren't playing Texas!! )

I've gotten totally confused about who's playing who in the championship bowl games. So, since I love to watch them, I'll watch no matter WHO'S playing!!

New, I can handle C.J., but when it's loud and really modern it's a turn off at Christmas or Easter for me. I'm just getting old I guess. LOL.

Nick heard me making calls about our janitor and emptied his piggy bank and wrote up a card for 'Mr.' James. It always amazes me to see the little children being picked up from Pre-school by their moms in Humvees and expensive cars... they spot 'Mr.' James and will run en masse screaming 'Mr. James, Mr. James'... climbing into his arms and all wanting to hug him.... Children are born color blind and it really blesses my very soul to see these lily white children in the arms of this ebony black man of God.

Ed... never heard of Tuttle, Oklahoma! They REALLY officially changed the name of the town???

And, Sheila... thanks for all the little "rememberances" you posted earlier this afternoon!! The "Little Angel" would be the most accurate!!

No, they have not changed the name of the town.
Tuttle is Jason White's Home Town, but I imagine his name will be on the Water Tower and at least one street and perhaps a park, etc. named after him.

Tuttle is West and a little north of Norman about 25 miles.

Good Morning All!

I woke up about an hour earlier than usual this morning (probably due to the fact that I took a nap last night)!

Everything outside is white. The snow is pretty, but will not look so good once everyone starts shoveling the sidewalks and digging their cars out...

Watch out NY! We sent our snow your way!

25º right now and 31º for a high today and mostly cloudy.

Boy Howdy from warm and windy Wyoming! Wind gusting all night (I've got the weather channel on line) it is 32mph right now sustained!

But 42F and climbing. Snow is about dried off or blown into Nebraska. Ready to head off to church in a couple, then big Symphony concert after lunch at 2 pm today, then our Church Christmas program and party at 6 pm.

Busy day for all of us, I'm certain sure! And HAPPY to hear the good news of Saddam's capture!

Well Hey Dr. Bob! It's only 37° at just after NOON here with a wind chill of 32°! I only had 4 in Sunday School and church was pretty sparse. I had some parents and grandparents stop by and say they were keeping the children home until flu shots had time to be effective, plus Sunday School started at 9:00 a.m. today. I hope they don't make that a habit. Too many just cannot get the little ones up and out by that time!

I put a ham in the oven early and we're going to have a nice lunch before all the football starts. I know C.J. will enjoy the games, Ed and Betty are fans, Blackbird and others but sounds like a good day for a nap to ME! LOL

Sue, send me snow! I am not kidding! With all this cold weather, we might as well have some beautiful snow to play in and enjoy!

If my memory serves me correctly, snow was beautiful when freshly fallen. But, by the time it's ran over several times it turns to brown slush.

Hello everyone,

I have just found out that we will be travelling thru the tunnel Well, they managed to keep that quiet. Oh my goodness, I don't think I like that idea. Tunnels are for moles and badgers of which I am neither.
There is a first time for everything I suppose. If I can go in a cable car, I spose I can do the opposite and go in a tunnel.

Good afternoon, everybody!!!

What a great morning it was at church today!!

Our pastor preached on "What if Christmas Never Happened", and it was outstanding! Just think about it...what if it never happened? Where would we be today?

The choir sang a song from the music they will be doing tonight. Had never heard it before, but it was beautiful. I'm looking forward to the music they will be presenting tonight! And, we sang a "jazzy" rendition of "Angels We Have Heard on High". I really don't understand WHY we have to "jazz" everything up, but seems like it's what we do nowdays. **sigh**

Diane...why do you wish so badly for snow??

The little we occasionally get here is really a pain! I admit, it's beautiful when it first falls, but as people walk and drive on it, it gets really nasty very quickly. Yuk. I'd just as soon the roads stay dry and passable!!

Sheila...I looked on the map to see why you will be traveling through a tunnel!! (I'm pretty good with U.S. geography...terrible at world geography, but that's why we have maps!!! ) And I see that to get from England to Belgium, you have to cross the English Channel. So what are the options you have for getting across it? And how far across is it? I've been through tunnels under water and, like you, they make me a little "uneasy"! I prefer to stay above ground!!

Diane's right...football games on this afternoon, and I enjoy them! Cowboy's don't play until 3:00 today, so I hope it's not a close game...I will have to leave for church before it's over!!

However, this afternoon, I may try to catch some news programs about the capture of Hussein. That was just incredible news to wake up to this morning!

Church was pretty disorganized and dull. Songleader "forgot" he was doing music and was fumbling for songs. Never needed my Bible. I'd sure rather be preaching than "pewing"!

But the special music and offeratory (by 18-year old very gifted and talented gal) were worth it! Could listen to her for a long time.

Safeway had fresh asparagus for $1.49 a pound, so we are having roast and asparagus. Nothing else! Actually not a bad diet to be on!!

Tunnel under the English Channel is called the "Chunnel". Easiest to take a train - can go from London to Paris on a bullet train in a few hours, spend the day and zip back. Our kids on a mission trip to England did that last summer. Long day, but worth it.

Originally I was told it was ferry both ways, then ferry one way and tunnel the other and now, at the 11th hour tunnel both ways. Hmm. Personally I would prefer to fly. I really don't like doing water at all, but I have either flown or gone by ferry. France it has always been ferry before.
Oh well, a bit late to change my mind now. I will let you know how it goes.
Still quiet in here, where is everyone today?

Norman is about 20 miles south of Oklahoma City. There is one town between Norman & OKC and it is Moore, but sometimes OKC and Norman city limits join. We are all a big part of the Oklahoma City Metro area.

I lived and worked in Oklahoma City for about 30 years, but since moving to Norman, I rarely go to "the City" any more.

If Tuttle wasn't on the map, it probably will be soon. It is a very small town. BridgeCreek which is not far was Tuttle was not on the map until the May 3, 1999 Tornado blew it away and then they put it on the map.

( They rebuilt and the school was not destroyed in the Tornado.

Now you are probably more confused about where Norman is than ever.

When we moved from the pastorate in Wisconsin to be the Dean of the International Institute in Dallas, there were big scrape marks on I-35 on the Red River bridge.

My whole family's fingernails scraping, trying desparately to stop the moving van. Remember now seeing "Norman" whiz by in the OKC metro on the journey south.

Never happier than in the summer of 88 moved to Wyoming. Boy Howdy. Get out of the Tex/Ok area!
