I am really unclear as to the premise of this discussion.
Is the perceived disregard for the Constitution restricted to just the left side of the political aisle?
Perhaps everyone has forgotten what Bush is reported to have said about the Constitution .....

WARNING: Bush was reported to have uttered expletives when referring to the Constitution .
This link is NOT for the easily offended.
Oh, and by the way - you are correct: he WAS a Constitutional lawyer - specifically civil rights with the firm Davis, Miner, Barnhill & Galland.
Not sure exactly what that proves, but he was indeed a Constitutional lawyer.

It means he was only worried about people who demanded rights and was not concerned about their responsibilities.

Ah, so you have intimate knowledge of Barack Obama, his opinions and his motives?
That is quite a statement about someone if you don't actually know them.

No, I was not a
Senior Lecturer like Obama was .
But why would Obama say:
"I am confident the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically-elected congress," President Obama said at a White House event in the Rose Garden today.
Just because a law is passed by a "strong majority" does not make it constitutional.
What is that saying -
Those who do - can
Those who cant - teach

Obama's views on the Constitution are...let's say...a matter of convenience.
He has made comments that call his interpretation into question.
Some are really off the wall.
But one got the attention of one of his former students:
http://nation.foxnews.com/thom-lambert/2012/04/05/former-obama-law-student-speaks-out
Now you know how I felt this morning when I read in the Wall Street Journal that my own constitutional law professor had stated that it would be “an unprecedented, extraordinary step” for the Supreme Court to “overturn[] a law [i.e., the Affordable Care Act] that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress.”
SNIP
...even a Con Law professor focusing on the Bill of Rights should know that the principle of judicial review has been alive and well since 1803, so I still feel like my educational credentials have been tarnished a bit by the President’s “unprecedented, extraordinary” remarks...

Strange title for an attorney that never argued a case concerning constitutional law.
Actually Obama referred to himself as a civil rights attorney, although he did little work in that area, as well.
The "constitutional lawyer" title is usually bestowed on him by his supporters to enhance his barely existent legal career.

It is a mistake to view the Constitution in isolation. It exists within the context of case law interpreting the text, as well as the broader common law and the traditions that have built up through years of practice in government.

This thread has got to win the award for the lowest expectations in the history of Baptist Board.
Arguing between George Bush and Barack Obama on the virtues of the Constitution is like comparing an F- to an F on a report card.
