    Hi Ed: [IMG]

How are you doing with your diet?

I have had company here the whole month of June. Makes it VERY hard to cook good low carb meals...

    Nope, Lea, it ain't us.

Our plant sends product to all parts of the USofA.

Ever see those little 8 ounce cans? Our plant is the only one that produces them for Coke (there are supposed to be four or five that will start producing the mini-can this year, but only in small quantities). In fact, we can them on my line. So there is about a 75% chance that I put the can on the line (I drive a forklift, and take care of supplying the line with raw materials...cans, lids, cartons, stuff like that).

Can anyone tell that I am a Coca-Cola freak? I am not sure...

    In Christ,
    Trotter

Good Morning, everyone! Lost 15 pounds!

I haven't seen the new coke, yet, but we finally have diet cherry coke in Oklahoma. We used to have to go to Texas to get it.

In the last weeek, i've lost 3 lbs. I'm such a beginning and I have a big Starch addiction. I'm trying to kick that habit. I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem and what if anything can be used in it's place? (potatoe's and macarroni are my biggest downfalls)

Cauliflower can be substituted for mashed potatoes. See the DIET ONLY THREAD in this forum for recipes...

    Acts 11 (revised)

    "Rise, and eat."

But he said, "Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean or high in carbs."

And the voice spake unto him again, "What God hath created, let not Atkins call common."

I loved the pastas and taters and all, too! I use caulifower and cheese alot, and also I make a squash casserole with lots of cheese, sour cream, and a little butter. After not having breads and pastas for sometime, I really dont miss them anymore. Its a strange thing! But I have lost 64 pounds, so I aint-a-givin' up now!

I've made that cauliflower substitute for mashed potatoes, it was awful, even my husband hated It. And we love cauliflower!

Dr. Bob, how unfair. I don't eat low carb because I want too, but only because of the diabetes.

TaterTot, I buy the low carb pasta, some are good, one was not. I also buy the low carb bread, 6 carbs a slice, I usually eat one a day for breakfast.

Donna: How many carbs a day are you eating? Mine varies from day to day...

    Tater: YOU GO GIRL!

Hubby and I both love the cauliflower potatoes. All I add is salt, pepper, and butter. I could eat them every day!

We also love the cauliflower gravy. The first time I fixed it, to put over 'chicken fried steak', hubby didn't even notice the difference!

I have given the recipe to a lot of people in Lincoln and so far, everyone has loved it and it has become a staple to them (just like "Cabbage Dump" has become a staple here). But then, people have different tastes.

Well, I'll have to look-up the recipe for the gravy...you've enticed me. And starting today, I'm aiming for a 10# wt.loss before July. I think maybe Diane has lost a bit with all that walking, but it's sooo hot here...last night, we walked after services & 2hrs later, I was soaked!

I'm considering buying a "juicer" & doing carrots. Right now, I'm trying some of that Xango stuff with the mangosteen fruit or whatever it is...my son sells it, so I get a really good *discount*. It's suppose to help the blood pressure, as well as 23 other diseases. (We'll see.)

Sue, I can have up to 150 carbs a day. As long as you cut your carb intake from what used to be your normal amount(most people it is 300 to 500 per day) then you will loose weight. I'm loosing on my 150, and I know of people who loose on 75 or 100 carbs a day.
If I eat too low carb my blood sugar drops. You have to be careful eating very low carb becasue anyones blood sugar can drop, you pass out and have to be revived at the hospital. Eat carbs quick, something with sugar.

Not only must the word of God be
    rightly divided (2 Timothy 2:15),
we must rightly divide the green bean [IMG]

I've eaten ramen noodles just about every day for breakfast . fast, cheap, and didn't appear to have many calories. I never thought to look at the carbs  till this mornings now i'm second thinking what to have for breakfast, because that is just tooooooooooo much. No wonder i've not lost much.

My diabetic granddaughter has been visiting us and I have learned a lot about how she handles her diabetes. She is on the insulin pump and eats what she wants to within reason and adjusts her insulin. She has juvenile diabetes She told me that everything I had heard and learned was from the "old" school and that things have changed in recent years how people control their diabetes.

Lea, I have always liked potatoes, bread, pasta, sweets, but since removing a lot of this from my diet, I feel so much better that I really don't miss them. I had fried food yesterday and I really didn't enjoy it. Then I ate my first white bread in about six weeks and it just wasn't as good as it used to be.

I'm not losing weight as fast as first, but like Donna I am eating about 150 carbs a day and trying to stay with about 1000 calories. With so much company, it is difficult. We have had six house guests in the last month. We are now running a bed and breakfast with airport shuttle service! [IMG] (Not really, it just seems that way)
