Donna: I posted a low carb recipe for "Low Carb Chocolate-Peanut Butter Pie" quite awhile ago. I don't know if it would be too much sugar for you or not, but it is delicious! [IMG]

Tater: Thanks! I will check out that site. ;)

Granny: If you can't find a recipe in the thread that is on here, the other recipe threads may be found in 'Archives - 2004'. :D

Oh dear me! I've tried "searching" all eve long, just as Sue suggested, and I tho't for sure it was your idea. I can't remember if it was on a diet thread tho-I think it may have been in passing.

Whoever wrote it, said they layered lettuce, & whatever else you like to make salads with, including cheese. Then add tortilla chips, or at least that's what I used, & the white creamy Italian dressing.

It was a bit milder than Taco Salad w/Catalina dressing & we really liked it. When the "wrecking crew" came in to do the major overhaul on this old house, all my scraps of paper I kept by this 'puter got shuffled-off-to-Buffalo. :D Thanks anyway.

Oh yeah~I did that search too after my search on BB failed. :( It's no big deal...I sure tho't TT was the one who posted it, briefly, on some thread here & I wrote it down, tried it a couple of times in the Spring & it was a hit.

I have a terrible habit of putting things on scraps of paper & I never throw anything away, so I still have it...but where? [IMG]

Granny, I remember that recipe, but I didn't write it down. It may have been in The Meeting Place. Was it MenagerieKeeper or Dina that posted it?

I've been to town with eldest daughter and bought some packages of that Cauliflower with 3-cheese sauce & some of those nifty cans of 'maters with spices. Wow! Where have I been hiding? :D So many to choose from! So I got some of each. [IMG]

I use to make Cornbread Salad a long time ago & had forgotten about it till I saw that one posted the other day...made it & have thoroughly enjoyed it this week. About the missing recipe, I can only post what I scribbled down, & I don't know if it would go here in this thread, but here's what I wrote:

    Sante Fe Salad
Layer greens(iceberg, romaine, etc) in a 9x13 deep dish. Then add whatever else you like in a salad, such as carrots, toms, cukes, radishes, corn, etc, anything, including cheese. Add a can of rinsed Ranch Style Beans(I used the ones w/jalapenos). Next pour on a bottle of white creamy Italian dressing over all & top it off with crunched Nacho Doritoes. *I used a big bowl & combined everything, including the chips...never was one to follow directions exactly.

Thanks for posting that recipe again, Granny. I have printed it out and I have all the incredients except the chips. I'm going to try it.

I just bought the new coke. I haven't tried it yet, but it is really expensive. Cost nearly twice as much as regular. Why are the low carb things so much more expensive than regular?

Supply and demand maybe? Not sure. What do you all think?

I was reading since my last post and I wanted to pass on a little "wise tale" ...

If you drink a 8oz glass of water when your having midnight cravings it's SUPPOSED to supress them totally. Now what you do about the 3am potty trips i don't know ;)

Just thought I would pass that on.

And the new coke is good, But, the regular was on sale for 99cents a 2 liter. So i'll use that up then when reg coke isn't on sale I'll get the C2 I think is what they are calling it [IMG]

    Toodles!

Pepsi has pulled out their own "low carb" soda as well. They are calling it "Edge", I think. I saw it a local grocery store last night. $1.99 for a 6-pack.

    In Christ,

Yeah! I lost another ½ pound. I may be slow, but I'm getting there.

It seems as if all we can think about is food. I have just fed the dog, fed the birds, etc. [IMG] [IMG]

Ed heard on CNN that one needs to eat at least 130 carbs a day for one's brain the function so Donna, if this is true, our 150 carbs per day should keep our minds in great shape. [IMG]

Hope everyone has a great day!

Congrats, sisThankful; I am envious of you! [IMG] I don't think I'm going to reach my goal of a 10#wt loss by July 1. It ain't gonna happen, cap'n. :(

Now about that Juicer...my taste buds are so warped by all the junk I've consumed over the years, that when I gulped some PURE juice from carrots and apples, I nearly went into cardiac arrest!

I told my girls they can keep it and have all my portions, that I will NEVER drink real juice again! [IMG]

I think I'll add some chicken strips to that SanteFe salad, as I saw that on some of those recipes I was searching. Sounded good. Sure loved that Cornbread Salad. And today, I will make some Cabbage Dump & try that Cauliflower/cheese/'maters...but next week, it's Tacos all the way! :D

Good news form my doctor visit was that the heart is fine.

Bad news is that I got the weight lecture - I need to lose at least 1 1/2 stone. :( :(
