It isn't very well sourced, not entirely honest, and it's a little immature.
Why don't you talk about how his administration flooded the streets of L.A., with crack cocaine, and predatory lending institutions, to drain the money from there to fund his contra wars ?
Reagan had a majority in the senate, and in the house, a lot of southern democrats voted with him. Reagan did cut the federal budget by $40 billion, real money back then, and also got a 25% tax cut through.
As far as spending goes, I haven't looked up any information. I don't know, but it doesn't seem like the O/P wants to back up anything it says. Let's see some comparisons.
A large part of Clinton's "success" is due to federal gridlock, and even though I can't stand the guy, Newt Gingrich did a great job holding Bubba's spending in check.
As far as the crack cocaine, gee, it sure does look like something awful happened. Reagan lost 31 house seats in his eight years. If he was behind this, then everyone was.
Illogically constructed mish-mash of cherry picked negative items from Reagan's tenure as President presented by a smarmy Gen-Xer that didn't live through the period.
On behalf of Ronald Reagan and the American people please know your vote is appreciated.
Now send in a generous contribution to the Elect Romney campaign and defeat Barak Obama before he destroys the Republic!
:godisgood:Here's to Ronald Reagan, the greatest president of the 20th Century.
He defeated the Soviet Union without a hot war and in the face of leftist opposition in this country!!:godisgood::applause::applause:
I said while he was in office that it is great to be an actor if you are going into politics. And I have said for years that Reagan acted presidential, in a manner of speaking, and fooled a whole lot of people. He really was not a good president ... but lots of folk fell for his acting. Hey, he didn't get a Oscar for any of his movies ... in fact he was never nominated for one. Maybe he should be given for for the acting job he did as president. I make that nomination.
Ronald Reagan is an American icon.
There were several things about his presidency that I strongly disagreed with.
1.
Breaking up the air traffic controllers when they went on strike (they were striking over long hours, not wages, as I recall).
2.
Granting amnesty in 1986 (?) to illegal aliens.
3.
Arming the "freedom fighters" in Afghanistan (OBL) which came back to bite us and ended up killing and wounding our troops these years later which continues to today.
I am trying to remember who was president when home mortgage interest rates were so high - that was in the 1980s, as well.
In modern times, Ronald Reagan was a great president, compared to those since.
But he did have some policy failures, IMO.
I believe he gave it a good shot.
But I do have a problem with the Reagan consultations with an astrologer in the White House.
And some people are concerned about Mormons.....
Doesn't matter, the demonic spirits were present in the White House.
Time magazine even had a cover about astrologers in the WH during the Reagan years.
Those demonic spirits are still there today, undoubtedly, probably multipled and legion (with all of the immorality that has taken place there, sins of every type through many administrations).
As an aside, even the current occupants believe the WH is "haunted."
(Who knows how many years demonic spirits have a stronghold in "our WH."
Think of the former occupants and the things we know about them now that were not known to voters at the time - homosexuality, adultery, among others.....)
