As modesty is taught in God's word, we should also teach it in conjunction with teaching people how to take responsibility for themselves.

Part of Godliness is loving others. And loving others means that you'll often times put their well being before your liberty to do what you want.

The Holy Ghost pointed out to me that he wanted me to obey this.

    1 Timothy, Chapter 5
20:Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

And to love each one as my own child. Spare the rod spoil the child.

    When it comes to sin.

There is never a compromise of any kind. WHATSOEVER.

    Go anywhere in this land.

    Take a good look.

You will see the results of compromising with sin.

    Take a good look.

You are seeing the decline and death of a great nation.

And the churches are not far behind.

Preacherof Truth, don't get dismayed if the ones who should be all for you preaching what God's word says seem to be against you. If He told you to do it, keep doing it. It will be for whom it will be.

We're in an age where those in the Church are so self absorbed that a lot of them don't care what affect what they do has on someone else as long as they get what THEY want.

My forever perfect example: We don't care that he is a Mormon. We just want the other guy gone.

Nevermind how it affects the Church's witness, I want what I want.

    God help us.:praying:

One of the Prof's at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va., Dr. Willmington, once told me..

We can never separate love and truth:

    • Truth without love leads to legalism.

    • Love without truth leads to liberalism.

How true that is. This statement is not true. There are many instances in scripture that the truth was preached without love but it was still truth. Jonah is a good example, also if the truth of Gods grace is preached in all of its sovereignty, whether you love the listeners or not it is still truth.

Perhaps you would read that again and tell me where I said it ceased being truth?

The signature never says it ceases being truth at all, only that it is legalism if preached without love.

Beautiful question salser mtn. I wouldn't want my wife being eyeballed like that and I certainly wouldn't want my daughters being looked at like that.

Which is what I don't quite get with Christian men. We're supposed to be the leaders. Then lead. As guys, we know how guys think. Teach them about modesty at home and there is no better way than to remind mama that she needs to be virtuos and modest.

I remember a long time ago back before Whitney Houston started having drug problems. She used to always look classy. She got paired up with Mariah Carey to do a special for something.

They came out with the same very modest dress on and they really looked classy. And then Mariah said something like I can't do this and preceded to rip off parts of her dress that exposed all sorts of skin and left her looking like a street walker.

Whitney said something lie "Always a lady first" and it just realy struck a chord with me on how beautiful people can be fully clothed and modest, and how ugly they can look when they are half undressed and trying so hard to be sexy.

And then there's Miley Cyrus. :tear::tear:

God help us if SHE ever becomes a role model!!

(No, I didn't watch the MTV "show-it-all" program.....I don't watch MTV at all....but those news clips of her "performance[?]" were enough to make me puke.)

Two points to make. One, my family dresses modestly. Two, it is none of your business or concern how they dress.

Yep! I'm a prude and proud of it. The standard? My sensibilities. :D I believe I got it from 2 Hesitations 14:2.

Actually, this is untrue. It is legal in New York City for a woman to go topless but it's rare that you see it happen.

They can go topless but not completely naked or show their private parts.

I don't even get that worked up about what lost people do because I expect them to push the envelope just as far as they can until Jesus returns to purge this earth.

It's the Christians that I take issue with. In our "liberties" a lot of us set a very poor example of being set apart and then we complain about what the lost are doing as though our display of unGodliness is any better.

If you were a lost person and on two different occasions two different females walked up to you to witness about Christ. One was clothed in a long dress down passed her knees with a long sleeve blouse on and the other one wore tight shorts, low cut blouse and pulling on a cigarette. Which one would be a better witness ?

Right but it is still what we consider immodest - yet people don't do it because there IS a societal factor involved as well - not just the law.
