    As long as elections are held, the "republic" will exist.

    Sounds like a good book LE but remember . . .

    Obama inherited the power to do all this from Bush and the neocons. Without them having done all the hard work of convincing us that we have to give up our liberty for safety and laying the "legal" groundwork for a militarized police state at home and regime change abroad Obama would have had a much tougher time laying claim to unlimited power.

    Bet Limbaugh leaves that part out, ya think?

    Not necessarily! Some people were ready to crown FDR as perpetual president but he died instead. Some like minded people thought JFK walked on water. An then there are the people who got a warm trickle down their leg just thinking about BHO.
