Thanks for posting this. I'd never heard of the "Greer Incident". I'll have to look up that fireside chat and listen to it, if it's available.
I've been listening to the fireside chats, in order, from 1933 (Bank crisis) going forward. Very interesting. FDR had a way of being plain-spoken so even uneducated people could understand him, though at times he seems condescending. -
