So this overrides all the other scriptures that give the details? You should know better than to ignore the rest of the scripture just to make a point.
When you try to symbolize literal Scriptures, you're doing as the prets do. That's their way to try to make 'evidence' outta thin air when they have none. Preterist or not, YOU'RE doing the same.
But, John said he was writing in symbols. Also of things shortly to happen. You cannot understand them because you don't understand his style of writing.
“THE Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:” Revelation 1:1 (KJV 1900)
Study "Signify" (sign) in scripture and it means symbols or "object lessons".
“For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.” Revelation 22:18–19 (KJV 1900)
Are you adding to God's word using "microchips" and "choppers" instead of the actual words? Charles Manson thought the scorpions were the Beatles Revelation 9:8. How does he differ from you?
Actually, the Greek means "to make known". That same word appears in Acts 11;28, & PLAINLY means "make known" there. Jesus was MAKING THOSE THINGS KNOWN to John by His angel. (Except the letters to the 7 churches He gave John Himself)
Don't be silly. It's a matter of semantics. Had Jesus used the actual word, John woulda written on the order of "He mentioned something He called a microchip." In your desperation to attempt to justify your 'symbolism' hooey, you're acting pretty juvenile. That doesn't impress me (or the readership) a bit. COMMON SENSE indicates why Jesus didn't use the names we use for these devices. And John described a copter & its pilot in full gear pretty well. In the military, I often heard squadrons of choppers in flight, & indeed they sounded like a herd of bisons, cattle, or horses running.
You need to consider the usage in other scriptures to derive the full meaning. You cannot see the fulfillments because you can't recognize them with your literalism.
