Have you seen the movie Elf? What did you think?

I did chuckle honestly a couple of times. For the most part I left the theater feeling empty and none of us talked about the movie.
It's too much sillyness for me.
I was honored to be with them though.

I found this website that reviews movies and rates them from a biblical perspective. I'll save my comments about worldliness for another time.
This website may be helpful for those who choose to go to the movies in hopes of finding something wholesome, but I don't understand why any Christian would choose to expose himself to some of this filth, even if it's for a "good cause" to warn others. It reminds me of something Kent Hovind said on one of his creation seminar videos, something about not having to put his head under a semi-truck wheel to know it would be a bad thing to do.

Psalms 101:3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me. -
I did nothing wrong in seeing this film and I will refrain from defending my actions.
My conscience is clear before my Father.

I have chosen to continue my position against attending any movie theater -- I wait and get the VHS/DVD and watch it privately.
Don't think Elf is on this santa's list for anything. Just the ads and trailer looked more "stupid" than "funny". -
We went and saw Elf, and thought it was hillarious. It is probably the funniest movie we have seen all year long.

I thought it was pretty funny--laughed out loud in some spots. It wasn't one I would have gone to if I had picked--a fairly empty movie but a few good directives. Not a good Christ in christmas movie, though.
But it was worth a good laugh or two.
Because I sent out Afro-American Christmas cards this year, the Black Santa was tops on my list.
