There's no point in waiting on something to be fulfilled, LE, that God has already fulfilled.
Also, those verses you quoted applied to Abraham, not to a nation. -
-
Well, now I can agree with LE.
I think they are to a nation - I am just not sure that it is THIS nation at THIS time in history. -
You all have forgotten that the Palestinians in Israel were grandfathered in as Israli citizens at the partition but left Israel to join the Syrian Army which would push the Jews into the sea.
-
Thanks, LE!

FTR,
LE has given you very biased links. That's her choice, we all come here to express our opinions. But please also see my previous post in answer to your question.
Thanks,
PA Jim -

Too bad that a lot of Bible-believing Christians in the world have followed in Augustine's footprints about all of it. It is no secret that the Catholic church has apologized publically in recent times to the Jewish population for what has been done over the centuries. Now if the Jews can just get some of those temple artifacts back from the basement in the Vatican....

Let's not encourage their apostasy and rejection of the Messiah. The land belongs to Israel as a nation in accordance with the Abrahamic promises, but not until they repent. This current generation has no legitimate claim to God's promises, though they have every right to make a political claim to the land.
Ken, the land promise was not fulfilled. It was in fact repeated in the exilic and post exilic prophets, meaning that the time of Solomon does not count. They didn't have the promise in the time of Solomon anyway, at least if you read the Bible's account. We don't need to wait around for that fulfillment. It will come soon enough, in God's time. We need to be about the business of planting churches and growing disciples in them. -

Shaking the bottle, when did Israel ever get all the land promised to them? The promise included about half the middle east. -
-
PL, please, I was cracking a joke. (aka Conspiracy Theory, LOL) Good grief.
CMG, you made me hungry for a salad. I like Ken's dressing, too. Especially the blue cheese and ranch.
Yes, if Israel had ever gotten about half of the middle east and not been driven into exile, the picture would be much different today. Oh well....one day.
Chicken and egg. -
PA, please refer to my previous post about Augustine and anti-Semitism.

They would have to repent first. That shouldn't be debatable, even among premillennialists.
-
Gotta go, but I will when I come back. In the meantime, maybe you could check the link to Bonhoeffer, unless you're afraid of what you might learn.

What makes you think Bonhoeffer is orthodox?
