It is quite strange that President Trump and his enablers consistently claim that there's nothing to the Mueller investigation when there have been scores of indictments and several guilty pleas already.
The President is acting like a particularly foolish guilty person. If he is innocent, he has nothing to fear.
The scope of the investigation is much broader than you claim and the investigation is not yet complete. Your complaint is similar to someone who goes to the theater to see "Gone With the Wind" and complains that the movie is more than an hour long and the theater should just stop the film and send everyone home.
According to reports, President Trump has received a list of questions that Mueller wants to ask him, and now President Trump is specifically attacking Mueller on Twitter. That sounds like someone who doesn't want to answer those questions, knowing that Mueller is not going to ask a question he doesn't know the answer to, and answering the questions dishonestly will lead to indictment, and answering the questions honestly will lead to impeachment and possibly worse.
He has not been accused of anything by the Mueller investigation. So his complaint should not be with Mueller and he should let the process proceed so Mueller can clear him. Of course, that assumes he is innocent.
Now I am convinced that somehow this "investigation" will be dragged out to 2020 with recurring fake news flashes from The Ministry of Truth (CNN) of "Evidence FORTHCOMING!" or some new shoe to fall though they have run out of feet.
"According to..." The most repeated phrase of the "investigation".
I didn't realize you were privy to the inner workings of the investigation. Otherwise, you have no basis to make that claim. So you've examined all of their documents and have interviewed the investigators? From what we have seen so far, the Mueller investigation believes a number of Trump's campaign personnel, as well as close administration personnel, are guilty of crimes. Some have even agreed with Mueller, pleading guilty. If President Trump has surrounded himself with so many people who who have been indicted/pleaded guilty, why are you so sure that the President is above reproach?
If President Trump tells the truth, how can it be a trap? A person who tells the truth can't fall into a trap.
Not necessarily, but if Mueller can't find any evidence (as you claim), then he won't recommend charges. In effect, that will clear the President. If the President stops the investigation, it screams that his actions cannot stand scrutiny.
I've noticed that the President's supporters seem to assume that Trump will lie under oath or that dirt will be uncovered, all with simultaneously claim that there is no evidence and that the President is innocent.
Some for lying to the FBI during the investigation. Others, like Manafort and Gates, for a long list of fraud, money laundering, conspiracy against the United States, being an unregistered agent of a foreign principal, etc. Flynn specifically lying to the FBI regarding asking the Russian ambassador to delay a vote on a pending UN Security Council resolution.
I did not claim they did, but several of them lied about their interactions with Russians. No evidence has yet been presented against the President regarding collusion. That doesn't mean it didn't happen and that doesn't mean that Mueller does not have evidence at this point. Mueller has made no recommendations regarding the President at this time.
The investigation is nothing but a political witch hunt designed to hand the midterm elections to the Democrats. The guilty pleas had nothing to do with what the investigation was supposed to be about. Hillary colluded with Russia, Uranium 1!
