Sheila - I just looked at a few of the pictures on the link that you posted on the last page. There is some beautiful scenery on your side of the big pond!
Roger - I'm now getting your prayer request updates - thankyou.
Jim - how have you been surviving the cold winter this year! I'm ready for spring - of course - I was ready for spring on the first day of winter!

Hello Dan,
Yes, I survived the winter of 04-05. It has been very cold by times, but little snow. I would rather the snow.
Spring is just round the corner now. It might be a long corner, but the sap is running and that is a good sign. Like you, I am always ready for summer.
Sheila, how did the Greek test go? Trust you did well.
Cheers,
Jim -
Jim,
Thanks for asking. I got 16/20. Made some silly mistakes with vocabulary. We are learning the Lord's Prayer off by heart and reading-translating Matthew chapter 1 as well as using a text book with exercises. A really enjoyable class and lots of homework !!
Blessings
Sheila -
Good work Sheila!
I ahd the "sad" experience of going to the funeral of the 14 year old daughter of missionaries in Cork yesterday. She had cystic fibrosis so they knew this day would come. No lungs were available here or in Canada (where her dad is from).
It was a Christ honouring servive - everyone knows that little Grace is no experiencing the full measure of her Saviour's grace.
Yet I thought, how would it be to wake up every morning knowing that I would not see my child that day or ever again here on earth.
No one would want Grace back in her broken little body, or course, but the pain of missing a child like that must be very, very hard.
Praise God that the "good-bye" was not forever! -
Roger,
I really feel for your friends in the loss of their daughter. Nothing can really prepare anyone for such a loss. They will be in our prayers.
Sheila -
My dissertation is at last finished, bound and handed in.
I was beginning to think I would never see this day.
Now...what does one do with one's time...  -
Enjoy the free time
-
Thank you Roger. How is your paper shaping up?
-
Bogged down in Patrick now - a lot of work here, but profitable
-
Sheila! I'm so glad you have it all finished and handed in. Jim asked earlier had I heard if you were able to get it completed and bound. That's great news.
Roger... 'Patrick'?? As in St. Patrick? -
Yup, just like St Roger .
I am examining his only two extant writings (Confessio and Epistilo) to try and determine his personal theology. -
Will you share your thoughts with us when you have your thoughts lined up, Roger? I'd be very interested!
-
It'll be a little while - but I am hoping to eventually get my doctoral disseration published - but I won't make my friends herw wait that long ;) .
-
Roger,
Can I have a signed copy please? -
A bit pre-mature, but if it gets that far I would be honoured to send you one ;) .
-
I would like to think I am first in the queue. Diane's right behind me...

Oh Goodness, It has gone so quiet in here again. Well, I had my Greek lecture this afternoon. It was good, but the other student spoilt it by her constant interruptions. She argued with the lecturer about the amount of homework he gave us... well, she disagreed with just about everything. That tends to stress me.
How is everyone else? The daffodils are coming into bloom in the garden which is lovely to see. Spring must surely be here soon.
Is time to do Sainsburys now...will look in later, Oh and I got 16/20 for my Greek test this week.
Blessings
Sheila -
If someone doesn't post in here soon, I think I will take it personally ...
-
Hooray on post #9000!!
I don't think many folks look inhere. -
Congrats on 9,000 posts Sheila!
I think most people check out the Active Topics and respond to those so other threads get ignored at times. I'm very guilty of checking there and then will not answer a question I've been asked because I didn't see it.
