I am typically a historic Pre-mil return of Christ for the millennial reign with a rapture hopeful outlook.
That is, it would be wonderful if the rapture occurred before a great persecution of believers took place here in the US.
Such persecution as has been escaped in this blessed land, and that others around the world have and are enduring.
Oh, what shame that the believers here seem to do so little for the hurting church!
However, why should they get all the fun?
Shouldn't the believers in the US be able to "count it all joy" when persecuted, too?
So, sure, I look for a rapture as a small portion of hope, but I don't put my hope in a rapture, for then if such evil comes as to destroy and hurt, I have my hope in the one who sustains and maintains.
Me too... I believe pan mil is the only answer... The plan of God will go according to how God has it planned not how man thinks God has it planned... That way NO ONE GETS LEFT BEHIND!:Biggrin... Here's some scripture to chew on!... Brother Glen:)
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
21 for then shall be great tribulation, such as hath not been from the beginning of the world until now, no, nor ever shall be. 34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all these things be accomplished.
Mt 24
19 For those days shall be tribulation, such as there hath not been the like from the beginning of the creation which God created until now, and never shall be. 30 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, until all these things be accomplished. Mk 13
22 For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. 23 Woe unto them that are with child and to them that give suck in those days! for there shall be great distress upon the land, and wrath unto this people. 32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all things be accomplished.
Lk 21
Well, since 'the great tribulation' has long since past, the answer should be obvious.
I'm not one rock the boat but if I was some of you brethren I would thoroughly check out where this doctrine came from... Then if you still believe it... Oh Well!... Brother Glen:)
While I absolutely agree with you that the GT in those verses were fulfilled in the roman - Jewish war, and was the vengence of God on the unbelieving Jews for the murder of the Messiah, the GT in Revelation is upon the church throughout the ages and is still going on in many countries today,
