The citizens of Tennessee might not care for the idea.

Tennessee River would be the new boundary? What would be the advantage of either side besides inventing two new US Senators?

Eastern and western WA have very little in common but if we split I don't think the eastern counties would have enough tax base to plow the roads in winter.

I was just in your state a few weeks ago. We saw Seattle, Mt. Rainier, Mt. Olympus, Tacoma, the coast etc. We did not make it to the west part of Washington, but understand it is totally different, pretty much desert, scrub brush, and high plains. We also saw the capitol at Olympia.

You brought up the best reason not to have a new state, the taxpayers having to support three more crooked politicians.

East, west, same old, same old. You saw the wet side during our record nudging drought. Aug. and Sept are traditionally our driest months. We don't plan anything big on the wet side before July 6th. It is a rule that it rains the week the kids get out of school and is hot & dry the week school starts.

    Then tell us about it!

and while we are at it, lets make New York City - its own state!

There was enough grief over it years ago (about the State of Franklin). I recently saw a documentary on it on one of the Tennessee public channels.
