Yes the evil Republicans hate the poor. :BangHead::BangHead:Crabby you need to quit watching MSNBC it will poison your mind. Please admit both Rs and Ds both sensationalize anything to make the other side look terrible. It is politics, don't take everything to read or see as the gospel truth. Except for the Bible, lol.
And do not pay for the cost of running the federal government.
Just another disingenious angle to divide the nation by economic status.
IOW More class warfare.
What's funny is that Obama has said we all have to have some "skin in the game", but just about half the tax filers in this country have none. And he has made no effort at all to change that. Instead he tries to get more "skin" from the people that are already being skinned and still none from the other half.
It's all about buying votes.
Democrats are pathological liars and incapable of the truth.
I guess all those who hate the rich can now move to France where they are going to tax them at a 75% rate. Now all will be equal and fair. :1_grouphug: Can't just all get along?
The real war that actually exists is the war the Democrats are waging on the unborn children and the elderly. Obamacare is the worst thing for our senior citizens. They will be refused any care other than comfort care simply because of their age.
I will interject here - Social Security has been robbed (to the tune of trillions of dollars and in its place were put gov IOUs) to balance previous budgets, pay for wars, etc.
When SS was moved to the general fund, it was robbed by both Dems and Republicans and administrations from both parties.
SS was never intended to go for anything other than SS.
It has been paid for by employee deductions and employer contributions ever since its inception and was never intended to be spent on anything else.
Now the question begged to be asked is, are the IOUs left in the trust fund any good, when our national debt is in the trillions.
This is why SS is said to go bankrupt, not because the funds have never been there, but because it has been robbed - the ultimate Ponzi scheme on American workers.
As far as Medicare - Obama took 500 billion (that's a b) from Medicare to "pay" for Obamacare.
While Dems show an ad with a Paul Ryan lookalike shoving grandma in a wheelchair over a cliff, the truth is that Obama stole the 500 billion from Medicare.
So, who cares more about SS and Medicare?
I say a pox on both parties - they both have pilfered and played around with Medicare and SS funds, spending this money (as well as our tax dollars) like drunken sailors and it isn't even THEIR money, all the while pointing fingers at each other.
We need to get rid of the whole lot of them and start over, IMHO.
considering the fact that they are income based, levied by the government, dispersed to pay for government programs.
Seems like an income tax to me.
Especially since most of us will not benefit from it.
I do not know what town you live in, but Meals on Wheels operates in many cities and towns. That a church operates a similar program is good, it is wonderful.
By the
way, Meals on Wheels is helped greatly by volunteers. Many deliver the food to the elderly at their own expense.
Whether or not it is in your town is not the question. Are you in favor of cutting funding to a program that helps the elderly most in need in our country?
Thats the government line.
But in reality what are they?
Here is a good working definition of income tax
Question.
Are social security payments imposed by the government?
Are they based on financial income?
Are you required to fill out a return indicating your payment amount?
Are these funds used to fund government activities and serve the public?
Thank you.
I know its supposed to be a Government adminsitered insurance program but since its inception.
The governement has been using these funds to finance other government programs other than for the purpose of insuring those who input their funds into the system.
Since the likelihood of my not being able to collect on this "insurance" while watching others who have either not payed anything into the system or very little through certain government initiatives that also create government jobs from my imput.
I can no longer distinguish between it (insurance) and an income tax.
