This was forwarded to me by a democrat, who has been a life-long friend! He writes that he could support all these changes, as they would lead to putting America back on track! I have to admit, that I was blown away with his telling me that these made sense! And before you jump on me, know that I had nothing to do with these, other than to post it for you to peruse.
Note how focused the author of this rant is regarding each issue, while providing solutions that are just plain old common sense. Apparently, this was written by a 56-year-old man from Gatesville, TX and published in the Waco Tribune Herald.
PUT ME IN CHARGE . . .
Put me in charge of food stamps no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.
Put me in charge of Medicaid. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to use drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.
Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your "home" will be subject to inspections anytime, and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.
In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week, or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22-inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good."
Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all the above are voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self-esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was thought of as being demeaning and lowering of one's self-esteem.
If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes, we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.
(This one may be controversial, but then again, those in prison are not allowed to vote) While you are on Gov't. subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov't welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

Funny how political conservatives always talk about how they want smaller government and a government that's not so intrusive in our lives. But they are always cosigning to and supporting any plan that allows government to intrude in the other guy's life.

Whole post is a load of Bee Ess. -
It's consistent with the approach of folks who want to "fix" a non-eternal dying nation more than they want to see an eternal soul saved.
You'll never point anyone to Christ by trying to shame or dehumanize them. -

#2 As long as some of you continue to treat folks who don't share your political POV the way that you do, don't think for an instance that I'm trying to have fellowship with you.
Fellowship centers around Christ. Fake, stank attitudes that care more about political persuasion than it does people does not.
You forget that you can't be involved in fellowship with Christ if you're embroiled in unrepentant, wicked darkness.
You don't seem to have a clue about what Biblical fellowship is.
So if you don't act like you love Christ because you act like you don't love others, don't expect me to act like I'm trying to fellowship with you because I'm not.
Fellowship in Christ loves as Christ loves. So don't get it confused for a milli-instance and think that I desire to be thought of being in fellowship with anyone who acts like they don't love Christ by acting like they don't love others.
Yes I do. I'm thinking about enclosing my deck and doing some paint touch-ups around the house. Got to replace that pesky garbage disposal too. I think I may add insulation to my garage door too. I don't like walking out there in the morning and it's cold. I need to get the gutters cleaned too. And then there's all those leaves in the yard.
So yes. I've got some major projects to get started on.
