Saw an op-ed by a NY Times writer (the same guy that did a scathing obit of Hugh Hefner), and he said that liberals would have been well served by adopting some conservative morals. One: Liberals laughed when it came out that Mike Pence does not take meeting alone or have dinner alone with a woman other than his wife. Liberals would do well to adopt that policy. Two: Consent is not enough for a policy, he argued, saying cheating on your wife makes you more likely to harrass your subordinates.

Third: You can’t ignore moral character when you make decisions about whom to vote for or work with or support. This was something conservatives used to argue in the Clinton years; under Trump, many have conveniently forgotten it. But it remains true. Yes, sometimes you have to work with a bad person or vote for a bad person or hold a fundraiser with a bad person for the greater good. But not nearly as often as you think.

You assume you know more than you do. With some men, sexual assault is about pure lust. With some, pure power. With the vast majority, some of both.I worked quite a few rapes in my day. 99% of the women raped looked good.
