Which makes it absolutely valid, I guess.

No Mr. Pizza;
I get no glee whatsoever posting this information, but perhaps some one lone sinner who is trapped in the maze of Catholicism will see it, research it and come to a saving knowledge of Christ apart from the trappings of the RCC.

Yeah. Nothing like infighting and bickering and calling each other hell-bound heathens to bring the lost into the knowledge of Jesus Christ, I say ...
 -

Yeah, diane, it's a lot of words.
Most telling is the fact that this website writer has to put words in JPII's mouth to make his coredemptrix point.
But like I say, it's all fun and games when we're ripping one another apart. Why bother with facts? We gots da WEB! -
His catechesis on Mary's collaboration in the work of our redemption of 25 October 1995 further highlights the fundamental importance of the insight of Saint Irenaeus [33] on Mary's collaboration in the work of redemption:
At the end of the second century, St. Irenaeus, a disciple of Polycarp, already pointed out Mary's contribution to the work of salvation. He understood the value of Mary's consent at the time of the Annunciation, recognizing in the Virgin of Nazareth's obedience to and faith in the angel's message the perfect antithesis of Eve's disobedience and disbelief, with a beneficial effect on humanity's destiny. In fact, just as Eve caused death, so Mary, with her "yes", became "a cause of salvation" for herself and for all mankind (cf. Adv. Haer., III, 22, 4; SC 211, 441). [34] -

Why bother with the pope when we have JESUS?
-
Amen Diane.
-
Well, y'all certainly are focused on the Pope. Why focus on the Pope when you have Jesus?

This takes you to the entire article list. Then go to "Marian doctrine". The entire section will disclose what you are looking for.

I happen to see one tribute done for John Paul where they show large crowds shouting how much they Love John Paul and individuals talking about how they worship him in some way.
The thought that struck me after 3 or 4 minutes of that - was "What if that was the tribute played to Bily Graham!" What a backlash that would get! What a cry of "cultism"! What a negative that would be for the American audience.
RATHER - Graham's tribute will be in the form of snippets from his public preaching, crowds coming forward to accept Christ.
There will be NO "we love you Billy" crowds/chanting/worship/devotion segments in the entire thing.
But then Billy does not "Take the place of the Son of God on earth" he is not the representive (vicar) of the Son of God in that familiar "Takes the place of" verbage used in the Pope's book.
Hence an entirely different focus when they play Billy's tribute.

Billy got fairly ecumenical towards the end, even mirroring some of the pope's "there is good in all religions", and "there will be muslims, hindus and buddhists in heaven". I would not be suprised to see a big fuss over his passing.
-
Big fuss yes -- but the worship and adoration scenes wont be available for the tribute - because they just don't exist.
You gotta have that "vicar of the Son of God" thing going for you to get that one.
Vittorio Messori is in fact stating Catholic context and basic beliefs - and then asking the Pope to comment on them. The Pope can at any time say -- "That is just not correct".
He does not.
So in THIS CHAPTER FROM THE BOOK that has been quoted -- what do we find?
So now the CHAPTER CONTINUES with John Paul's reply

Mike </font>[/QUOTE]I guess you haven't been participating very much in the BaptistBoard over the past few days, then. The utter hatred and disrespect for the Pope is equalled only by that for Michael Schiavo.
Real Christianity in action, I tell you. -
I must have missed the "JPII is in eternal torment" post.
Who posted it? -
Near as I can tell it was TPizza himself.

I hope with everything in me that the Pope is in heaven.

I saw a "history" review of JPII on the discovery channel yesterday. It was done very well and showed some of the major initiatives for peace and reconcilliation that JP supported in his lifetime.
I really believe that he was one of those people in the last century - used by God to hold back the 4 winds of strife as Rev 7 describes.
In Christ,
Bob
