While I do not use TimeWarner cable because of their poor service in our area of the state, I personally SALUTE them for doing what I hope other cable networks do, and that is pulled the plug on this Muslim propaganda television network. :applause::applause::applause:

BTW - I use Direct TV, and I will be letting them know that I would consider going back to TimeWarner [I have only two choices in cable where I live] if they keep al Jazeera on the program list. I hope others do the same. Let's not forget that al Jazeera was the network that broadcasted 24-hour coverage of Muslims celebrating after the terrorists brought down the Twin Towers.
Al Jazeera also brought comprehensive coverage of the Iraq w from Iraq's view. Whenever I wanted to know what was going on according to the other side, I'd turn into the al Jazeera network and the US Russian network. They were one-sided and filled with propaganda. That is of course their right, but, IMHO, I do not see networks with anti-American propaganda being on American cable networks.
After all....we are still at war with radical Islam, and because it is nearly impossible to differentiate between who is and who isn't a radical believer, I say we need to approach this more cautiously.

Al Jazerra is just another example of how Islam will slowly take over America. I don't think we will like what we see in 10-15 years.
-
Here's a novel idea...if one objects, tune in one of the other channels, or just turn off the set.
-
As for the issue in the OP? I say, good. It's nice when a private company exercises its right to operate as it chooses. That right is vanishing quickly under Obama's regime. -
-
Seriously?
Go read the Hobby Lobby thread. Heck, sit and ponder the unAmerican obamacare law as whole. Consider the job killing minimum wage laws. Consider unions holding companies hostage....most recently Hostess. -
How come people who use Hostess as an example to bash unions never mention that Hostess was stealing the workers pension money and cutting their pay because the company was grossly mismanaged?
With holding evidence or denying it exists to demonize someone or something we don't like is dishonest. Isn't that what we accuse liberals of doing all the time? -
Yeah, it's a pain to have to deal with opposing points of few isn't it? Lets just get rid of them all except Fox.

You forgot one more right....

I've been looking for a source about Al Jazeera's 24 hour coverage of celebrations after 9/11 and can't find anything. It doesn't seem like smart business. Does anyone have a link to this story please?
-
Does that work to stop recruiting converts from prison populations?
Have you ever supported the repeated calls to boycott Fox News or conservative radio programs? Or expressed an opinion about them that would infer that they shouldn't be on the air? (I don't know, that's why I'm asking.)
Have you ever been in a doctor's waiting room and had to endure TV programming because you couldn't turn off the set? (Bedroom scenes on soap opera's for example.) Not everyone, in every situtation, has the option to change channels or turn off the set.
Personally, I applaud TimeWarner for taking a stand. Just as I do Hobby Lobby, Chick Fil A and other private business making their own decisions about how their own business will operate within the confines of both the Constitution and their moral convictions. -
While it makes do difference to me that Al Jazeera is using this purchase to start up Al Jazeera America I am surprised that Time/Warner is not picking it up. My guess is that is a financial rather than a moral or philosophical decision.

I do appreciate seeing the news from another perspective, it challenges me to think through some of the issues presented normally only from a western perspective. -
And yes, I'm sure it is a $ issue with Time-Warner. EVERYTHING is a $ issue with them. Unfortunately in our region they are the only option. :BangHead: -

Any calls for giving MSNBC a boost?
