The money I carry in my wallet is the money I have earned to provide for my family. I'll be (you know what'd)before I would willingly hand it over to a thief!

The correlations were tracked after the anti-2nd-amendment crowd got their way.
There are exceptions to the rules, of course, but the norms are as have been stated and supported by the evidence.
Of course, we can "what if" all day long. "What if the increase in crime was due to .......?"
Well, crime has skyrocketed in almost every place that guns were restricted. The answer then, often times, was to ban them, and the violent crime went even higher.
In places such as FL, TX, Kennesaw, etc. in which private citizens were permitted to carry concealed weapons after passing safety courses, the crime rate dropped.
Of course, I'm sure the anti-gunners will come up with a whole list of "what if"'s while ignoring the evidence.
As an aside, we had an outsider come in to rob a bank once. Apparently, his thoughts were, "Hick town; cops won't be around; nothing but civilians!" 17 citizens, including tellers, held him at gunpoint until the police arrived. And, believe me, sometimes it takes cops a while to get to you when the nearest one is 50 miles away without a road! -
