I was surprised that the Obama won the popular vote by the amount reported. I thought it would be much closer and that Romney might win the popular vote. I was wrong.
I do read that Republican leaders and some thinkers, like George Will, say the GOP has to change for continue its decline. I know there are folk here on the BB who will reject this message and continue to beat the drum tattoo for continuing on the path of death. -
If you had your way, folks would go back to the stone age. Have you ever noticed when American Indians are granted land now that they choose to build casinos? They choose to live in modern houses and drive modern cars? I haven't seen any of these American Indians go back to riding horses, living in tee-pees, or hunting buffalo on horseback, have you? That's because they've figured out that going to the grocery store is a lot safer than hunting an animal that can trample you to death.
But you just go on believing men should go back to living thousands of years in the past.
Yeah, we've been so cruel to the Muslims, they used to ride around on camels hoping to find an oasis, now they live in modern houses with air conditioning and drive Lamborghinis. Wow, must be tough.
So, you equate modern industry with abortion? Get real friend. -
Yet Republicans are demonized by this same media because we will not move in the same direction. Reagan defeated the Soviet Union without firing a shot over the objections of some democrat leaders like McGovern, McArthey[Eugene}, Muskie, and Teddy boy among others. All to no avail as the leaders of the democrat party led by Barak Hussein Obama are determined that America wind up in the same Marxist cesspool! -
While Hispanics have just passed blacks as the biggest minority group, and have long been projected to become the majority in about 50 years, they still have not surpassed whites as the majority at this time, so how are whites a minority? Or are the majority of whites being said to be mostly "non-working" as well? Just what is being defined as "non-working"? Because one benefits from any program (including stuff like student loans and social security)?
And again, focus is shifted from all the freebies the corporate world gets. Could this be deliberate?" Another form of "blame-shifting"? -

Since LBJ invented the Great Society $15,000,000,000,000 has been sent on welfare, apptoximately the size of the national debt!
A policy analysis released by the Cato Institute in April shows that despite nearly $15 trillion in total welfare spending since President Lyndon Johnson began the "war on poverty" in 1964, the poverty rate in the United States has remained relatively constant.
In 1964, the national poverty rate was around 19 percent and falling, while the current poverty rate is expected to be around 15.1 percent and climbing. It is now at the highest level in nearly a decade.
According to the Cato report, the federal government will spend more than $668 billion to fight poverty in 2012. State and local governments will spend an additional $284 billion, amounting to $20,610 for every poor person in America, or $61,830 per poor family of three.
Federal money for fighting poverty is divided amongst 126 separate anti-poverty programs. The programs include 33 housing programs, 21 food or food-purchasing assistance programs, 8 different health care programs and 27 cash or general assistance programs. Seven different cabinet agencies and six independent agencies administer at least one anti-poverty program, the report stated.
The largest federal welfare program is Medicaid, with spending topping $228 billion in 2011, excluding funding for nursing home or long-term care for the elderly. Other programs include the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, the Earned Income Tax Credit, Federal Pell Grants, the National School Lunch Program, Head Start, Work Investment Act Youth Activities, Summer Food Service Program for Children, TRIO Upward Bound, Weatherization Assistance for Low Income Persons, WIC Grants to States, Rural Rental Housing Loans and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Outreach and Participation.Click to expand... -
That $15,000,000,000,000 was spread out over the whole period, right? So it's not by itself the cause of the debt.
Poverty programs were always one relatively small part of expenditure, and yet it's always what's focused on in these debates; as if the poor have gotten all the money! (The fact that poverty apparently hasn't changed much as the report shows ought to show that they must not be the ones who have all the money. Unless we go with Quinn's "Grasshopper" parable, that the "Green Bugs" are so careless that they throw away all the money, leaving both themselves and everyone else in poverty. But that still begs the question, if they threw it away, then who picked it up and carried it off? The poor certainly aren't the ones sitting on it, even if they had gotten all of it)
Still, what I was asking about, really, was the racial category mentioned regarding the apparent division. That it's only one group, versus all these "disparate" others.
It's true that obviously, money has not been handled properly, but to begin framing it in this "us versus them" rhetoric (even naming various groups as the problem or the good and hard working) is dangerous. It often becomes the smokescreen the the true culprits behind the problems use to get all the "ants" blaming and fighting each other, while they ruin them all.
The liberals might be the ones who more frequently mention race (as well as, of course, class), but then it seems as if some people are taking the bait and running with it. Yet they continue to get angry when they feel a "card" is being "played" on them. It is not one group or another that is the problem. -
A lot of our debt should be placed on Dubya and him pointing our weapons and soldiers on the wrong group.

I have observed this; this is a Christian debate board and much of what I see written are pov's from an ungodly world view. How about we Christians actually view what is going on politically through the lens of God??? Now isn't that a fresh thought seeing how this is suppose to be a CHRISTIAN opinion board!!
The country is changing, but mind you, just as God said this world would go. It doesn't get better, it gets worse, so consider what is happening in this country and just Who's side you are finding yourself on.
"But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived." (2Tim3)
We have a President who believes murdering babies in the womb and homosexuality is a ok with God and should be supported by government. And we have over half of the electorate agreeing with him! And sadly, even professing Christians.
So this is how it goes folks! You cannot fight against God's prophecy. But as you vote, be sure you find yourself on God's side, which in the end will be the remnant, not the majority. It's a slow fade, but we see it ever so slightly leaning towards darkness rather than Light. -
"This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away."
Who here has turned away from such a man??? Or are you guilty of embracing such a one? But remember, there is always forgiveness in Christ for those who will sincerely repent and turn from their wicked ways!
This country will go the way of the world, it is written, be found on God's side of these issues! -

Yes I'm talking about Romney and I'm not surprised you've never heard any such a thing. It's one of those issues politicians like Obama and Romney never bring up and the mass corporate media keeps silent about. Because they are all complicit in the same crime.
