Look, the President is not doing a "good job" according to the goals he set for himself. He said he was going to do many things in his first 100 days and he's done only a couple of them.

Muslim travel ban? Fail
Withdraw from TPP? Success.
Nominate and confirm SCOTUS judge? Success.
Get rid of sanctuary cities? Fail
Start building the wall? Fail
Reverse Obama's Executive orders? Mostly Success.
Approve Keystone Pipeline? Success.
Introduce legislation for term limits? Fail
Label China a currency manipulator? Fail
Introduce legislation for tax reform? Fail
Hiring freeze on all federal employees? Enacted, then reversed.
Ban on hiring foreign agents from raising money for US elections? Fail
End the offshoring act? Fail
School Choice and Education Act? Fail
Affordable Child Care Act? Fail
Clean up Corruption in Washington Act? Fail

You still have not told me why Reagan and Bush could get tax reform done and Trump cannot. Asking me a question about my level of knowledge of the process and/or the non sequitur about Trump creating jobs that will rile freeloaders is not addressing my question. So, why can't Trump get this done?

WASHINGTON – House Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and other conservative members of the House of Representatives are calling on House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) to delay the August recess so Republicans have a better chance of passing parts of President Trump’s agenda.

Meadows said Republicans would not be able to pass a tax reform package if they wait to begin the legislative process in September.

“I think we may need to move it up sooner. If we are waiting until September that means we will not get tax reform, guys, if we’re waiting until September. You guys have all been around. If we wait until September that means that we get legislative text maybe in October, that means that we maybe get it out of here if it’s fast-tracked by the end of October, which means that it goes over to the Senate and it sits there,” Meadows said.

“There’s zero chance that gets enacted into law before the end of the year."

The tax reform plan has not been derailed, it has not even been introduced in Congress yet. That is the problem.

Article is about spending cuts, not tax reform or tax cuts. I don't know why you posted it in a thread about Trump's tax reform plans.

 

The House Ways and Means Committee is the committee tasked with introducing tax legislation. The committee is comprised of 24 Republicans and 16 Democrats. It is chaired by Kevin Brady R-TX. I seriously doubt any of these Republicans are opposed to tax cuts. Please find one of these Republicans that opposes tax cuts.

As to spending cuts, it need not have anything to do with tax cuts. The Republicans could introduce a tax cut bill with a sunset feature, say 10 or 15 years, that would be a way to pass it without spending cuts. This is exactly how George W. Bush got around a revenue neutral tax cut bill.

 

Would be easy to prove. Just go to each Republican's web site and look at their policy position on taxes. I bet you won't find one that opposes a tax cut.

So you're saying there are Republicans in the House that would vote to impeach Trump? Feel free to correct me, but that's what you just said.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said both chambers plan to take up tax reform in September, adding both the Senate Committee on Finance and House Committee on Ways and Means plans will mark up the legislation after it is written.

McConnell said Republicans are planning to use the reconciliation process for tax reform, arguing they will need to employ the parliamentary procedure due to Democrats’ hesitance to work with them on overhauling the tax code.

Reconciliation allows the upper chamber to pass a budgetary-related bill with a simple majority, offering the GOP the ability to push for more conservative reforms.

“We will need to use reconciliation because we have been informed by the majority of the Democrats in a letter I just received today that most of the principles that would get the country growing again, they’re not interested in addressing,” McConnell told reporters Tuesday. “So, I don’t think this is going to be 1986 when you had a bipartisan effort to scrub the code.”

So they didn't need to repeal/replace Obamacare first. They don't need 60 votes. They just wasted 9 months which means we are 9 months further away from the economy really picking up thanks to a new tax code. When Reagan's tax cuts went through it was a little bit over a year before the economic numbers really started to go upwards.

I doubt they will get a tax reform bill passed this year.
