See, I do post positive items about the Bush administration.
-
Did Rice say anytihng about supporting the idea of reciprocity as a means to achieving that Palestinian State...maybe, perhaps, disarming the terrorists amongst them?
Joseph Botwinick -
As best as I can tell by scanning the Press Briefing, the questions were about the elections:

That's right, give evil, statehood. So wrong.
Oh Joseph, dream on. -
Give them their state in Gaza. Add to Gaza an equal land area to the West Bank. Build bigger wall between Gaza and Israel. Clean out the West Bank.
-
-
No that is not right. Reform the Palestinian system and then give them statehood. That is the only way there will be more security for the children of the Israelis, and that it will be right. Simply giving away land for nothing in return will do nothing but breed more terror.

Ken,
Giving away land hasn't worked so well so far. It has been tried over and over again to no avail. If the Palestinians and Israelis really want peace, they must link statehood to democratic reforms and to disarming the terrorists. So far, Israel has given away land, but no terrorist has been disarmed. Simply giving away land for nothing in return will do nothing but breed more terror.
Joseph Botwinick -
Joseph, that is what I've been saying all along. Make them PROVE they want peace by their actions & their words. Make them PROVE they want peace - no attacks, no homicide bombing, etc. for at least a certain time period - a year or two. THEN, and only THEN, if they can be peaceful and show they want to build a productive society without the hate, without the violence, THEN and only THEN, come to a resolution. Rewarding terrorists never pays.
-
LE,
That is what I have been saying all along. You, on the other hand, have not been saying this. You don't want a Palestinian State no matter what because of your allegiance to the Dispy Holy Dirt of Israel.
Joseph Botwinick -
Joseph, I do not recall you saying this, just as you do not recall me saying it, either.
I have always said you can't reward terrorism. I have always believed the Palestinians would never cease from terrorism. And I have been proven right so far and will be proven right in the future, I have no doubt.
I have always said the Land belongs to Israel (according to the Bible) and that Jerusalem should never be the capital of a Palestinian State. I am not sure about Gaza.
PS: God thinks it is holy dirt. -
-
How many times have you seen the word reciprocity come out of my mouth?
Joseph Botwinick -
Joseph Botwinick -
I can't remember that, Joseph. Perhaps you can search some old posts to refresh my memory.
-
Out of curiousity, did any of you see Alan Dershowitz debating Noam Chomsky with respect to Israel and a Palestinian State on CSPAN last month? That was interesting.
Regards,
BiR -
I did not see that. I wish I had.
Joseph Botwinick -
No clear winner, but Chomsky definitely brought his "A" game, which made it that much more entertaining.....
