In 1997 Zbigniew Brzezinski wrote a book entitled "The Grand Chessboard". This link will take you to a review of that book. In his own words, Mr. Brzezinski tells the objectives and means to achieve this feat using the worlds only superpower's wealth and strength.
Is this "a blueprint for a world dictatorship"?

And you know what, poncho? Uzbekistan has a HORRIBLE human rights record, I mean real torture of human beings. And you know what else? The last news article I read talked about Congress granting an ADDITIONAL $45 million dollars of our tax money, with Colin Powell saying they are coming a long way on human rights. Oh, yeah, right, that's why people are still being tortured. Give me a break. We paid them to use them as a launching pad for Afghanistan, which was a problem our government created initially. Money talks and our State Department doesn't require accountability from the nations who hold out their hands for our hard earned tax dollars. Then there's the subject of the oil and gas pipelines. I believe Uzbekistan is one of the countries through which those are supposed to run that has been on the drawing board and maps of the US Dept of Energy for several years. So the bottom line is, human beings are tortured, the American taxpayers ante up for foreign aid to corrupt governments and the rich oil barons reap the benefits. It's always about money.

Here's the map for proposed gas pipelines.

Money, power, and control hmmmm. Nah, not a powerful enough inducement. Besides, our loyal government would never allow such a thing. That's all "conspiracy theories" LadyEagle. George W. Bush has assured us of this his very own self.
Besides all that...isn't Zbigniew Brzezinski a liberal? -
My last post here is sarcasm. I agree with you LadyEagle.
So, where does the battle plan take us after Iraq? If America is to take control of the world at all costs and be the global masters as Mr. Brzezinski claims (and I have no reason to doubt we are witness that it has already begun) who is next?
We've already heard the war drums pounding to go after Syria and Iran.
How long will Russia and China sit still for this? I have to believe that they can read just as well or better than Americans. They must also understand that this is a plan desgined to limit their influence in the world.
Russia has made no secret that it has nuclear subs operating off our coast yet, and the Chinese own a big slice of American soil already (thanks in part to William Jefferson Clinton who gave them our deep water naval base on the west coast) we are quite surounded by our enemies.
How long before we see the streaks of missiles in our skies and hear the thud of retribution? -
Well, we can thank Fidel's buddy, Jimmy Carter, for giving away the Panama Canal which was built with American Tax Dollars. And we can thank the Chinese who now control the Panama Canal - and you can bet your bottom dollar there are Chinese subs with nukes guarding the gates of the Panama Canal. Of course Bush had to grant China the Permanent Trade Status in spite of their human rights violations which still persist today, because otherwise, China just might decide to close the Panama Canal gates to thousands of American ships and barges and then where would we be? Lovely, ain't it? China will be something to be reckoned with one day, no doubt. America's elected officials and residents of the White House from both major political parties for decades have sold their souls to satan for power and wealth. A fine mess they've gotten the American sheep into.
I figure Iran is next. -
I'm going to buy "The Grand Chessboard" and give it a read. Would be very interesting to see what lines up with the recent history of this war.
I believe you may be right about Iran, isn't there a pipeline from there to Israel that was in use during the American backed "Shah" years? Seems like they would want to get that back online as soon as possible. -
That, too. But also the threat of the nuclear plant going on line.
A fellow I know is from Iran and here in the US for political assylum. He says the people there are ready for freedom from the rulers. I'd say it's a safe bet we already have CIA operatives there.
Get this: we do have American companies already doing business in Iran, even though Bush indicates it is on the list as part of the war on terror. That it is, I have no doubt. But the fact that American companies are there already and making money kinda takes the thunder out of the war on terror rhetoric. -
The history of the U.S. covert foreign policy is the support of Fundamentalist Islam.
This can be fully documented by those willing to investigate the history of Iran, Afghanistan, etc and their respective U.S. relationship...
It is simply a strategic matter of creating instability on the border regions of 'competitors'. This interferes with those who might seek to challenge U.S. global supremacy (i.e. Europe, Russia, India, China). Fundamentalist Islam has been a valuable U.S. tool for many years.
Has the war on terror changed this policy or continued it?
The Grand Chessboard is an interesting read.
It is possible Iran will be center stage by November.
Of course the stated goal of PNAC is to fight and decisively win multiple simultaneous major theater wars. Are they pleased that everything is falling into place for them?

If you don't have an enemy to fight manufacture one. Gotta keep those oil barons and defense conractors employed.

Searching around the net I found these sites. Very interesting story of Major General Smedly D. Butler USMC. Twice decorated with the congressional medal of honor. His thoughts on war and the Bill of rights. He also uncovers a plot by American wallstreet powerbrokers to overthrow the president of the United States.
Smedly also wrote a very short book entitled "War Is A Racket". He was a man that should know he was in many of them.
American Coupd'Etat?
War Is A Racket
After reading Butlers story I could just feel the love our government had/has for us. The more things change the more they stay the same.
I don't think I will ever understand how anyone can believe that things like this would never happen in America today. Our history is full of such instances documented to the hilt. -
And one backlash to the intrigue is the tendency of the executive office to grow ever more dominant in response to the point that the legislature becomes superfluous. Legislature is not needed and in fact is only a hindrance when rule by executive order can take its place. And one way to ensure executive order is not questioned is to use war as an excuse for its need.

Thanks, poncho, for the link. Heard about this on Fox News today & your link was timely. Not much being said on cable news about this with all the US politics flying around. -
Is this the gas pipe line that we invaded Afganastan for?

Just posted this in Current Events.

This transcript doesn't change the fact that al Qaeda was based in Afghanistan and the Taliban helped them to be there. Nor does it change the fact that on 9/11/2001 al Qaeda attacked U.S. citizens on U.S. soil.

Ken, how was this fact established?
