the "fruit" of war
Jesus is the Prince of peace.
War is the opposite of peace.
By examining the "fruit" of war, we can see through the deception of the idea that war is either justified, or necessary. War is extreme darkness. War steals, kills, and destroys.
fruit inspection:
War produces: fear, violence, chaos, destruction, death, suffering, bloodshed, panic, disease, trauma, hunger, famine, misery, aggression, danger, hate, psychological damage, environmental contamination, hardship, casualties, failure of infrastructure, stress, worry, instability, torture, abuse, depravity, hostility, sadness, despair, displacement of population, depression, hopelessness...
This is negativity. darkness. harm.
And the effect that war inflicts upon the most helpless, and defenseless in society... (children / animals / the sick / the elderly)...
My prayer is that the world comes to realize the Truth about war. And that Truth comes from Jesus Christ. May there be war no more. And may peace sweep across this troubled planet.
In Jesus name I pray,
Amen.

What a wonderful world it would be...
One of these ole' days, your prayer will be answered! I, too, look forward to that day. -
My understanding is there will be no more war when Jesus comes again.Even so Lord Jesus, come.
-
Ecc 3:8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
War is not always avoidable.
AVL1984 -
There is a peace that is only to be found on the other side of war.
Do not forget that Christ will return to the earth and shed a whole lotta blood.
Take your pacifism nonsense and peddle it to morons. -
"May there be war no more. And may peace sweep across this troubled planet."
I'd agree with you here. War is a terrible thing. Unfortunately we live in an imperfect world. In truth it's better to fight a war to stop a Hitler or a Bin Laden than to let them terrorize humanity.
Anyone who would assert that Jesus is not the prince of peace has ABSOLUTELY NO UNDERSTANDING of ANY of the Gospel message. -
Charles, whom are you accusing of not having an understanding of of Christ being the prince of Peace or the Gospel message? I didn't see anyone but the original poster. Could be my meds are kickin' in, too! ;)
AVL1984 -
AV,
I'm not accusing anyone of that. But for anyone to hint that to want peace is wrong - that person is mixed up!! -
I agree, Charles. Peace should be one of our main goals as Christians. The Bible tells us that as much a lies in us to live peaceably with ALL men. Just wanted to make sure you weren't go off the deep end there, my friend.

Exod 15:3
3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
(KJV) -
Michael111: "Jesus is the Prince of peace."
Amen, Brother Michael111 -- Preach it!
Michael111: "War is the opposite of peace"
This is not correct, error conclusions follow the
error assumption. The Opposite of peace
is an incorrect relationship with God
i.e. personal confusion
James 4:1, 7-8 (KJV1769)
1 From whence come wars and fightings
among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts
that war in your members?
...
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil,
and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.
Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts,
ye double minded.

Peace is peace.
War is not peace.
War is not... loving one another, loving one's enemies, turning the other cheek
I pray that the world prepares for peace... and not war.
Michael111 -
An absence of war is not equivalent to the presence of peace.
Surrender is not peace.
Submission/toleration of a tyrant like Hitler or Stalin is not peace.
Acceptance of oppression and the constant threat of attack is not peace.
Referring back to your original post, war is not the opposite of peace. -
All I know is we better kick some tail before they kill us. It's easy to set back and type on your computer in your nice home and talk about peace and love. You would not be able to do that if men of the past didn't go out to fight for this country and save the tails of other country's. You sure would not be able to talk about Jesus like you do without your door being kicked in and killed. Wake up

We hear here that Jesus is the Prince of Peace! And true He is!
But we need to also remind ourselves that He is also a God of War! And He will be known (in my way of thinking) as the soon coming "General Jesus" who will orchestrate the largest battle ever known to man! -
Mat 5:9 Blessed [are] the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Mat 5:10 Blessed [are] they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Christ was a God of peace and love and so are His followers. Sometimes the government calls for war but don't mix that up with the teachings of Jesus Christ. -
My sentiment Bob Colgan. Jesus said when they say to you; "peace, peace then comes sudden. We wouldn't be Christian if we didn't want peace. However there will be no peace in this world until Jesus comes back to settle things in this world.
irwin -
Irwin?? How do you think He's gonna settle it???

Mat 10:34 "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. "
Truth causes division.
When Jesus comes to bring peace he will do so by using force to overcome his enemies.
