Blackbird,
May I answer since there was no answer from Irwin.
I believe you may be thinking the same thing I'm thinking Rev 19:11-16 He wont be coming back as the Lamb (amen) He will be coming back as the King of Kings Lord of Lords. War this world ant seen what war is yet.

We are to pray for peace---that's true! But in a sense, when we are praying for peace, what we're really praying for is Jesus' return!!
Pray for peace----but until Jesus does usher in the 1000 year reign--- "keep your powder dry, boys!" -
There is one thing .... just one thing.
Whenever va war was declared in the Old Testament times. It was God telling them to declare it.
It's true in the earlier parts of this nations history it was kill or be killed even in the 1900's. The fact remains that God is a man of peace, until all other ways have been exausted.
The Lord knows that some people have to be hit over the head with a bat before they realize that which they are doing is immoral and incorrect. Just like a parent to a child. Sometimes they need to be spanked.
Now i'm wondering if this thread was begun over the war's raging all over the world.
I'm going to start another thread about it -
Then....
A New Heaven
and
A New Earth....
and PEACE! </font>[/QUOTE]Of course I believe that this will happen but that does not mean that Christ promotes war rather than peace. He said that He came not to establish a worldly kingdom but rather a heavenly one. His second coming and the final battle will do just that, establish a heavenly kingdom. Man's wars, like for instance the one we started in Iraq do not establish a heavenly kingdom but rather further or establish worldly kingdoms. This passage of scripture does not justify war, especially unjust ones. -
Jesus is the light of the world.
The Prince Of Peace.
LIGHT and PEACE
Michael111 -
War is a good thing, and is sent from God!
Without wars we would be over populated. Without wars we would have more sickness and disease.
God sent the Isrealites to war many times and they won most of the times. God does know what is best and diposing a evil ruler like Hussein from Iraq is a good thing. I don't like war, but it is a nessesary thing. -
Daniel tells us the man of sin will conquer by PEACE.
Just an aside for ya'll to ponder.
In His service;
Jim -
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
Forward into battle see His banners go!
Refrain
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
At the sign of triumph Satan’s host doth flee;
On then, Christian soldiers, on to victory!
Hell’s foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
Brothers lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
Refrain
Like a mighty army moves the church of God;
Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.
We are not divided, all one body we,
One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.
Refrain
What the saints established that I hold for true.
What the saints believèd, that I believe too.
Long as earth endureth, men the faith will hold,
Kingdoms, nations, empires, in destruction rolled.
Refrain
Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane,
But the church of Jesus constant will remain.
Gates of hell can never gainst that church prevail;
We have Christ’s own promise, and that cannot fail.
Refrain
Onward then, ye people, join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.
Glory, laud and honor unto Christ the King,
This through countless ages men and angels sing.
Refrain -

What about the battle of Jericho, or Gidian, are you saying Gods hand wasn't in those wars? What about God being soviern, and are you saying he doesn't control every circumstance, and situation? what about the verse in the bible that says that God is a God of war:Exod 15:3
The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
What about Arch-Angels? -
Jesus said:
"Love your enemies and do good to those who hate you.."
"Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God."
"He who lives by the sword shall die by the sword."
"Never return evil for evil."
But he also said:
"Do not think I have come to bring peace, but a sword, and how I wish it had already come."
I wonder what he meant by that one.
Dave -
Peacemakers = George W. Bush, our troops,
everyone who supports their
effort to spread world PEACE
neighbors = the people that Saddam tortured,
mutilated, oppressed + the people
who Osamma Bin Laden killed(9/11)
War is necessary for peace:
The peace that we enjoy today is ours only because there were peacemakers who fought for it. -
Well said here now, that inspires me to say, did not the Peace that comes from Christ (our salvation) come at a price? (His death on the cross) peace comes with a cost to someone.

Do I have to remind all of you that we are at war everyday against Satan! When we worship the Lord our God, Creator of all, we are at warship! Get the coincedence? When we worship we are at war with the god of this world. Sorry people, war is nessesary, sometime soon we may see the war of all wars when Christ gomes back in His glory on a bright shining white horse and we the saints following suite on our beatiful horses. A Steven Curtis Chapman song comes to my mind.
"Saddle Up Your Horses" :D
