President Ronald Reagan defeated the Soviet Union without firing a shot.We thought Communism was dead even though China remained. However, there is apparently a vigorous free market at work in China in spite of the Communist dictatorship. Sadly the economic system in this country is following a different course. The Federal government now owns 2 of the 3 American car manufacturers and a number of financial institutions. They are now in the process of attempting to seize the Health care industry, one-sixth of the American economy.
In 1956 the head of the Soviet Union, Nikita Khrushchev, declared to the Western democracies: "We will bury you!". Western Europe is well on its way to Socialism or takeover by Islam. Was Nikita Khrushchev correct?

Foreign News: We Will Bury You!
Monday, Nov. 26, 1956
At the final reception for Poland's visiting Gomulka, stubby Nikita Khrushchev planted himself firmly with the Kremlin's whole hierarchy at his back, and faced the diplomats of the West, and the satellites, with an intemperate speech that betrayed as much as it threatened.
"We are Bolsheviks!" he declared pugnaciously. "We stick firmly to the Lenin precept—don't be stubborn if you see you are wrong, but don't give in if you are right." "When are you right?" interjected First Deputy Premier Mikoyan—and the crowd laughed. Nikita plunged on, turning to the Western diplomats. "About the capitalist states, it doesn't depend on you whether or not we exist. If you don't like us. don't accept our invitations, and don't invite us to come to see you. Whether you like it or not. history is on our side. We will bury you!"
Just the day before, ambassadors of twelve NATO nations had walked out on a Khrushchev tirade that lumped Britain, France and Israel as bandits. Now Khrushchev was off again.
The Kremlin men cheered. Gomulka laughed. Red-faced and gesticulating, Nikita rolled on: "The situation is favorable to us. If God existed, we would thank him for this.

Following are some additional perceptive quotes by Nikita Khrushchev and Norman Thomas the former leader of the Socialist Party in this country. Both comments show just exactly what is happening in the United States under the leadership of the democrat party.
From: http://www.oaknorton.com/shockingquotes.cfm
"We cannot expect the Americans to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of Socialism, until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism."
- Nikita Kruschev, Premiere of the former Soviet Union, 3-1/2 months before his first visit to the United States.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of "liberalism," they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."
- Norman Thomas, for many years the U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate

The problem with the U.S.A. today is that we have gotten away from Christianity. I remember when I was a boy that almost all businesses were closed on Sunday and that even television programming was far more family oriented on Sunday. Anybody remember Davy and Goliath?
The educational system has always been the primary focus of socialists, and where they have seen great success. Today, young people are indoctrinated with many socialist and atheistic beliefs from kindergarten up. These kids are completely unaware and many cannot think independently.
This is why the heavy support for Obama was shocking to many of us who are older, more conservative, and religious thought based. We see that Obama and his supporters are openly socialists, and cannot believe that people would support him. But these people, especially young people have been indoctrinated to believe socialism is truly superior to capitalism.
When I was a boy, my father said something to me that has always stuck with me. He said, "the most difficult thing to understand is how other people think differently than you do." I did not understand what he meant then, but I do now. -
Great post Winman.
I believe that there have been two Supreme Court decisions that have done great damage to this country.
The first was the decision taking prayer out of public schools. The effect of the decision extended far beyond the schools into every facet of life in this country. It seems that many people looked upon this decision to say that GOD really does not matter!
The second was the decision legalizing the slaughter of the unborn. If Brown vs the Board of Education was interpreted to say that GOD really does not matter; certainly Roe vs Wade said that innocent life does not matter.
Both of these decisions were perfect examples of the liberal/left mindset. -

Didn't Khrushchev also later say that "we won't have to fire one single missle at the U.S., but the U.S. will destroy itself from within"? Or was that someone else?
That concept is quite possible. And it will be both the right's and the left's fault for allowing to happen. -

Where Oh Where are the leftists on this Forum? Where Oh Where could they be?

No, Afghanistan buried the USSR and will bury the USA. Those people love killing and don't care who they kill. No country has ever successfully invaded Afghanistan. For that matter, it has been a long time since any country has successfully invaded Russia. The USA only makes strategic withdrawals . . . Panama, Philippeans . . . .

Massive looting of the treasury takes place and totalitarianism raises it's ugly head as the people begin to wake up to the crimes of the political and financial elite in order to control or destroy opposition to the elite's rule. -

poncho it will not be fatal if you give Reagan credit for something. If the democrat left had gotten their way they would have propped the USSR up just like they did in WWII and it may well have survived until this day to see our demise. OldRegular

>Afghanistan hurt the USSR but it was Reagan and his defense buildup coupled with the Strategic Defensive Initiative which brought the USSR down.
OK! SDI bankrupted the USSR, didn't matter it it worked or not.
Osama, being an engineer and thinking like an engineer, engineered the cheapest, fastest, least bloody and most efficient world war in the history of the world. In two hours and a couple of thousand lives he put the US on the road to economic and moral ruin. He paralyzed our economy and put us in fear of anyone with a rag around their head. He cost us a third of our retirement savings.
Could Krushchev done anything to make us take off our shoes every time we go into an airport? Osama should get the Peace Prize for his quick and efficient war. -
Good thing I am not President, but I know quick and efficient. ;) -
Besides OR, the communists just moved from Moscow to NYC. You can find them in UN building every day of the week.
I wouldn't be so bold as to think I could foretell our future but fortunately for us there have been others who have, Thomas Jefferson and Samuel Adams both told us how our republic would end. How did they know. They studied history.
We'll we pay them any head? Not from the looks of it. We're to busy arguing about which group of deceitful and designing men are best suited to run the country to pay any mind at all to their warnings. -
>I would have opened that special suitcase and pushed the button.
Would you also have supported MacArthur in his demand to nuke Red China and his disrespect of Truman? -
