Waterboarding is reported to have been used on only three terrorist suspects.
No deaths are reported to have occurred.
Abortion has killed and continues to kill millions.
Every successful abortion results in a death.
Obama supports abortion - he voted to expand it before becoming
President and has expanded it since becoming President.
If you voted for Obama - would have still voted for him if he had previously voted in favor of waterboarding terrorist suspects?
If he had campaigned on continuing waterboarding as a interogation technique?
Yes, because he was still the better overall choice. When you factor in all the issues, including the picks for VP, Obama was better for America. I was not trilled by Biden being picked ... but I was terrified at the idea of Palin being one heart-beat away from being president.
However I must say that unfortunately abortion is legal. Water boarding is not. So the question amounts to would I support a president who campaigned on breaking the law or going contrary to our beliefs as a nation (not my individual beliefs, the nations collective beliefs)?
I clearly don't agree 100% with every law in this land but I do respect our democracy and principles that make us a civilized nation. We respect law. Not every individual law, but the guiding principles of why we have laws.
I am not a one issue voter. That was one factor of many that I took into consideration. Also, regardless of what a candidate says there is very little they can do about abortion. Whether I like this or not does not change that simple fact.
I agree. Especially considering the alternative was to allow the conservatives to continue to rule and continue their effort to destroy the United States' economy and reputation.
Yep, it's ok for millions of babies to be aborted in the supposed name of economic prosperity. Again, it's called rationalization. By time Obama and the democrats are through with with economy we will all regret that they were in power. But hey, at least the precious reputation of the United States will be improved down at the United Nations building.
I think there needs to be an abortion forum on this board where all discussion of abortion can take place. Maybe then it wouldn't seem like every thread in this area ends up being about abortion.
FTR, I am opposed to any abortion for any reason. I would like to see abortion for any reason totally outlawed.
Therefore, there is no reason to bring up the subject of abortion with me.
No one is more opposed to abortion than I am.
One can't be more opposed to abortion than to advocate its total outlawing.
If Obama is continuing the Bush policies, then why is Cheney so adamant that Obama has made us less safe?
If Obama is continuing the Bush policies, what's with this new commercial with the republican's comparing Obama securing of the nation to the cold war?
If Obama is continuing the Bush policies, why is so many of the GOP against what he's doing?
I don't think he would be getting all this opposition if he was continuing the same policies.
That's easy the people who really run the country need to keep the illusion of a two party system going for as long as they can. At least until they gain our consent to install an honest to goodness (or honest to badness?) one world dictator in our midst.
This is a pathetic response from a professing Christian; choosing an practicing baby killer for president.
I say practicing because he has reversed some policies that restricted US aid for abortion. May GOD have mercy on you and all professing Christians who think as you do.
Wrong again LB.
It was the democrat congress insistence on banks making bad loans and their refusal to reign in FM and FM that tanked the economy.
As far as our image in the world they will only like us when we become a third world socialist country which appears to be "bho"s goal.
