"Nuff said!":tonofbricks:
Do you think that things have gotten so out-of-hand [in this nation] that we are close to losing everything? And what would it take for the people of this nation to stand up and demand that our elected officials put an immediate end to the rising costs that are causing all of us to dig so deep that many of us have hit bottom in our pocket books?
I was listening to a talk radio show today, and a person from Texas said that the state is considering putting in a toll road from Dall to Austin, and the cost for a one way trip would be $ 70.00. If anyone of you in Texas have heard this, or can say that this is not true, I'd appreciate your response...I can honestly tell you that here in California there is serious consdierations about making toll roads out of freeways. Freeways that we, the tax payers have already paid for with bonds and taxes, over and over again.
With the states thinking about toll roads [to make up deficits in their coffers]; foreclosures; unemployment; the out-sourcing of American jobs; the rising cost of gas; and food going up at astronomical speeds, it sure looks like something is about to break.
I know prayer is what we need, but, do you think that prayer is really enough in a nation out-of-control?
Just a thought...please don't shoot the messenger, but, I just had to ask: "Will we have to lose this nation in order to get it back?"

We may have to lose this nation in order to get it back?

And where in the world is Dall, Texas? -
I prefer to drive on toll roads because they are more peaceful, I suppose because every car must exit thru a toll booth and most every car has a cell phone to report uncivilized drivers.

righteousdude2,
imho, we have already lost our nation .........
and we wont be able to get it back.
During our prosperity, we neither acknowledge God nor were we thankful.
God inspired our founding fathers to form a government which it is accountable to the people. But we have failed to hold our position and keep government accountable to us.
Our founding fathers documented well through letters, journals and notations, their positions on the purpose of government, the resposibility of citizenship, concerns over treaties and engagements with other countries, the value of industry and labor, the dangerous precident if government should accept the position of discharging charity, the value of a reliable and stable currency, limitations of taxation, etc. Furthermore, the Bible was among text they cherished and studied and it was a guide of wisdom even to those who didn't identify as Christian. Their writings frequently deferred to scripture and frequent acknowledgement of God and his providence. Modern historians have cut these principals from our text books, transforming our religious foundations into secular information which impacts our children in no small way to blind their understanding.
We've allowed our govenment to lead us into unholy wars, designed not for the protection of our land and our freedom: wars by designed brought gain to industry, to the bankers and investers and served the purpose of diverting our attention from internal processes begun to tear down the moral fiber of our country.
While we slept in peace, our country grew a debt which put the power of the purse in the hands of private lenders.... Moreover, we did not recognize our own contribution and made credit our master by living beyond our means, and encouraged the worthless printing of paper which has no value 'cept our own confidence... and those of the nations who accepted it.
In the mid 1990's legislation was proposed and passed which essentially positions all personal private possessions as the capital backing the debt of our nation.
Our leaders are not protecting our sovereignty: They are cohorts in a globalist plan that is driving all the world towards one government, one law, one common money exchange, one economy, and one religion which will acknowledge and support spiritually the powers behind government ...... but no part of Christianity will be included.
And to Ken's response.... If you vote in the national election for a Democrat, or if you vote for a Republican.... you will vote for a globalist who is anti-constitution, anti-national sovereignty; both parties are in agreement on the globalist plan.
I can understand that people will try to make their choice between these two parties, thinking they can pick 'the lessor of 2 evils' ....not realizing, if they have a third choice...no matter how slim the chance of winning..... If they have a 3rd choice and don't vote it then they have still made a choice for evil. -
for a story from WFAA-TV detailing the idea of the TransTexas Corridor. It could take 50 years to build, and by then, $70 will probably be a bargain. It will run parallel to I-35 from near the Oklahoma border north of Denton, through Dallas, Waco, Austin and San Antonio.
Also looks like Texas 161 will be a toll road.

Oh cheer up at least we'll be able to pay foreigners to use our own roads. What a bargain!
There is nothing left to lose except whatever remains of our country’s good name. -
It's not. There's nothing to get back. It's still here. You still own your very own little slice of it. You may not like it , but it is what you have helped make it.
My little slice of it is safe. I'm keeping it. -
RD,
I think your premise is correct. Our nation is hanging by a thread by any light you want to see it in, whether economically, militarily, morally. socially, or spiritually. Both parties pander to voters without telling them the truth of the condition we are in, especially when it comes to the free ride of easy credit or being accountable for our actions.
There is not a dime's worth of difference between the two parties. The Republicans have sunk to the level of the Democrats, except they are also incompetent. Kennedy and Nixon would both turn over in their graves if they could see the present state of their parties.
Only a miracle of God will stop the insanity. Maybe His judgement starts with the three clowns who are finalists to run our nation. -

We have been in much more dangerous times before:
Civil War [War Between the States]
The Great Depression
WW II

!
Crabtownboy ,Maybe so, But at that time our government was only working to bring us towards a "new world order" Now they are ready to both implement it as well as cause this nation to surrender its sovereignty and constitution. (although with the enacting of the war powers act the constitution is of little or no affect) "suspended"[

O.P. (opening post): //And what would it take for the people of this nation to stand up and demand that our elected officials put an immediate end to the rising costs that are causing all of us to dig so deep that many of us have hit bottom in our pocket books?//
The flaw in your whole argument is that the 'elected officials' of the USofA can do that. They do NOT know how to do it. They would NOT do it if they knew how.
IMHO the Republicans are taking us to Hell in a Handbasket.
IMHO the Democrats are taking us to Perdition in a Motorized Shopping Cart.
But probably the people I'm talking about in my signature are elected officials, Republicans, and Democrats -
Doom, despair, agony on me....
The question begs the question - Lose it to whom? Where would it go?
Are you under the impression that America was founded as a Christian nation? Sure there were some Christians involved, but probably just as many Masons and pagans. Religious freedom started them over the ocean but ultimately it was financial freedom that made them fight. -
