I have been as member of Baptistboard for almost 6 years. I never make a poll myself. I decide to make a new poll. I love color people. I am not a racist. I also love black people lot, because I am from near Detroit. Even, many black people living next to my door. I am curious, what color are you as member of Baptistboard. No doubt, I notice most of members at Baptistboard are white. I am also white. And I notice many pictures of mebers at Baptistboard, almost are all white. Where are picture of black member at Baptistboard? I wonder, is there any black members at Baptistboard? I would like to see black members join at Baptistboard and make posts there.
In Christ
Rev. 22:20 -Amen!

There is a box to click at the bottom of the page you use to start a new thread.
And, though I know you meant nothing by it, the term "colored people" is considered to be offensive. The language barriers we have can be tricky! -

that's funny  -
I am a true African American. I know my pic shows as me being what most folks would call Caucasion, but I was born in Africa to American parents. I can claim citizenship in either country.
A true African American. -
When Guitar25 was a little boy - I used to tell him that he was off-white -- seeing he's my sister's first son - and both his parents are the same color - I guess that makes me off-white as well!

I understand you did not intend it this way but I thought you would like to know for future reference.
A more suitable question would be "what is your skin tone/colour" since white is one of many equivalent choices.
I believe the BB is something like 99% white but there are a few non-whites around including myself. I am asian and I guess folks call us yellow-skinned but again, the term "yellow" has a lot of negative baggage meaning "coward" in a crude slang context in reference to asians. I know of a few other asian BB members on this board.
Skin tone can be a sensitve topic that is very personal. Some anti-Politically Correct folks will never understand that until they go to a country like China or Saudi Arabia where they become the significant minority and experience the ugly head of racism for themselves. -
So I'll give you the "American" part, for citizenship. But one cannot claim any possible "African" citizenship except possibly for one born in either South Africa, or the Central African Republic, for there are no other of the nations that have "Africa" anywhere in their name.
Were you born in, say, Kenya, you might be considered a Kenyan-American, as to your dual citizenship, but not as African-American. Likewise, were you born in Egypt, you would be an Egyptian-American; in Nigeria, a Nigerian-American; in Sudan, a Sudanese-American, and so on.
BTW, it's spelled "Caucasian." Or it is occasionally referred to as "Caucasoid".
But why even bring this up, here?? You have made your position fairly clear, in the past, and there is no real need to rehash it here again, IMO.
And frankly, in the words of the late, great Supreme Court Justice, Potter Stewart,
"I know it when I see it!"

FTR, my skin pigmentation is irrelevant.
But according to Scripture, The precious 'red' blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, shed on Mt. Moriah, washed my scarlet sin "as white as snow'!

When our fourth child was three years old and in nursery school, we had a "mother's helper" who was from Jamaica. Our son came home one day in January, bursting with news about Martin Luther King's fight for civil rights. He solemnly explained that black children once had to go to separate schools, and that black people had different hospitals, water fountains, had to sit in the back of public buses, etc., but not anymore! Our mother's helper was listening and asked him, in her lilting Jamaican voice, "Do you know any black people, Conor?"
He thought for a second and answered, "No, I never even seed a black person"
"What about me, mon?" she asked, holding out her arms to him.
He went over to her for a hug, then stared at her for a minute. "You're not black," he answered. "You're just browner'n' me."
We're all just browner or lighter than one another. -
I don't see color as far as people go. I was taught from early on that there are good and bad in all kinds of people, not any specific color or creed.
I do not like the term "race" to designate people of different skin colors. We are all the human race, period.
As for my skin tone, I am pretty much white. I have some Cherokee in my background, but I also have some red-headed, fair-skinned Irish as well as some blond-haired, blue-eyed German. Unfortunately, I got the fair skin part, but my wife loves my blue eyes. I didn't even get the Cherokee cheekbones like my mom.
I do have to admit that I am a chameleon in the summer. I tend to turn bright red very easily. ;) -
When my oldest was young, we had a wonderful friend who was black. His name was Charlie and DD also had a stuffed animal named Charlie. One day she was speaking of Charlie and to help us know who she was talking about, she said "Not my stuffed Charlie but brown Charlie." We told him that and he laughed!
We also had a speaker years ago for our youth group - I cannot for the life of me remember who it was but I'll never forget the fact that he was black because he told the kids right off "I'm not black. People call me black but look at my skin. It's chocolate. You guys aren't white - you're vanilla!"
For me, I don't care about skin color. My friends are my friends because of what's IN that skin, not what's on it. Hey - I DO have African friends too - but they're white. Both families are actually natives of South Africa and one family moved back but the other live a few blocks from here. :) LOL
Oh - yeah - I'm vanilla. -
