This is a video taken from the sermons of Richard Rohr, A Franciscan Monk. Please feel free to comment if you think he is making valid points. I believe he is right there in his own commentary, But I'm not here to defend him, merely to seek truth.

What Yeshua taught was TORAH. He came only speaking His Father's words. Love, forgiveness, judgment, and mercy are all found in the torah. He did not come to bring a new doctrine, but to refresh the original one.
"Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand" = Quit sinning and obey the Father because His king is here and he is calling the outcasts back to covenant. -

When you get down lower where he says, "You have heard it said" - this is a reference to oral law and its precepts. He was contrasting the man made teachings or applications by proper interpretation of written word. He came to "fulfill" the law in this passage which is a hebrew idom for "give a proper interpretation of" while "destroying" is giving an improper interpretation. He was teaching torah from the "spirit" (true intentions) and not just the "letter" (one does not negate the other however). -
What is more the RCC teaching (supposedly infallible) called the "Doctrine of discovery" grants the right to Catholic explorers to slaughter the native peoples of other countries that refuse to convert. Hopefully the RCC will see its way clear to reject that instead of clinging to the idea - still, that it is infallible.
What is more the RCC called for the "extermination of heretics" as part of the supposedly infallible council of Lateran IV - in the dark ages. Hopefully the RCC will see its way clear to reject that instead of clinging to the idea - still, that it is infallible.
What is more the RCC does NOT practice open communion - but many of the other denominations including the SBC and my own denomination - do practice open communion. Hopefully his own denomination will hear his message and change on that point as well. -
I must have slept through that during my Jedi ninja assassin catholic training. -
Matthew 5
43“You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ 44“But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and theunrighteous. 46“For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47“If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48“Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. -
People will try to hide what Jesus teaches us to do with mix of teachings about who he is, to downplay what he actually teaches.

See your starting to show your true colors. All these things Jesus teaches here is geared to destroying all of the wicked in the entire world.
The problem is when you hear "destroy wicked" you automatically think "kill them". Where as if I hear destroying the wicked is to get you to repent for one's wrongs, to love God and love neighbor.
You are never going to beat evil with evil, only love and kindness can destroy evil, and it does it right at the core and soul problem. -
That is what you are saying right? That Jesus Christ is GOD ALMIGHTY. -
