The Apostle refers that a true Christian keeps them, practices rightousness, and will not commit sin...
Know that he is NOT teaching us sinless perfection, so what is he saying regarding what a true believer does in life?
What is"habitual" sinning, and can a true Christian do it?
What Did John mean By "Keeping the Commandments?"

John is saying that we should not make sin the practice of our lives.
He did not say it's possible to live without sinning.
However, Jesus did say we should be perfect, just as the Father in heaven is perfect. (Matt 5:48)
So the standard is perfection, even thought we can't live up to it. I can't imagine Jesus (or John) saying, "you need to be sinless, but since you can't, God'll cut you some slack. So it's okay to sin a little bit." -
As some here seem to hold to God saves you on a probationary basis, and IF you are able to "clean up" enough, to have jesus "Lord" over enough areas of your life, that He will grant final approval/deniel at time of death? -

It is nice to have a messuring stick for who is a Christain or not. That one guy doesn't tithe, He can't go to church on Sunday he has to work. He should find a better job so he can do what he is commanded I found a better hope to draw near to God when i can't do what i want to. To know I am going to fall down and make mistakes, but what matters is that i get back on the road with Christ. It has many twist and turns and drop off, but to remain in Christ is what matters the most. We are not perfect, Christ is and He is our perfection.
There is many parts of the body and the body encourage each other and where we go we go together as one body with many members. We should support each other in our local church and be one. As the army taught me, we are only as strong as our weakest member.
To love each other and to love God is not has hard when you have someone helping you hold your hands up when it is about to fall. -

Paul said "just shall live by their faith in Christ", but some seem to imple that its mixing faith and their good works! -

1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. -
Not the law of Moses.
John 1:17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
1 John 2
7 Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.
8 Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth.
9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.
10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.
11 But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because that darkness hath blinded his eyes.
John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
John 15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.

Yes it was a new Commandment but it was not exclusionary one. It was in addition to what had already been given. Eveerything thta is mentioned in the NT falls under the commands as well as some of the OT. -
I got the Joy, joy, down in my heart, down in my heart to stay. I got the peace that passes understanding down in my heart, down in my heart to stay.
I miss summer going to summer camp as a child.
The greatest key of a believer isn't that they can keep the law in which we feel we have to to please God. To show the world our members of our church we are one of His to like minded people like us. That they want to show how righteous to the world they are on the outside but how are they on the inside, only God knows. They show no joy of the Lord that is on the inside with a changed repentant heart toward God.
You can tell them because you will see the joy that is on the inside coming out toward God and others, even if the world hates them, persecute them, slander them. Stephen comes to mind who was a man just like every one of us.
