Thank you!
Let me say that I understand the mistrust shown toward those who change positions, especially where a candidate, like Obama, who is so radically pro abortion is concerned.
I never supported his stance on abortion, that is why I did not vote for Obama in the first place.
I just hoped his presidency would keep America out of a depression, so I overlooked the abortion issue and got on the Obama bandwagon.
Previously, some years ago, I was very conservative in my politics, so this is really just a return to what I have believed in the past.
And yes, the Lord used the motorcycle accident to get my attention and cause me to evaluate where I was and where I should be.
I'm not talking so much about politics as I am serving God in general.
But, turning back to God involves everything, including politics.
When I was sitting on the pavement waiting on the ambulance, knowing I was severly injured, I felt the Lord speak to me.
I am only trying to do what I believe He would want me to do in my life.
If this explanation is not sufficent, then there is nothing I can do to convience you of my desire to return to what God would desire.

In general , I have a deep distrust of those who have epiphanies, particularly political epiphanies.
But you sound sincere and I will take yours at face value.
I look forward to hearing your voice object to many of the things he is doing or trying to do.

A brush with death has a way of changing ones life and outlook in many ways.
It puts one in touch with their mortality and reminds one of what is really important.
I speak from experience.
I still wonder for what purpose God spared me 18 years ago when I suffered a cerebral aneurysm.
Two weeks in a virtual coma and brain surgery left me virtually the same physically and mentally, but forever changed.
Your spiritual health is far more important than your political outlook, but sometimes it's hard to separate the two.
Maybe we shouldn't even try.

Saepe expertus, Semper Fidelis, Fratres aeterni
Often tested, always faithful, brothers forever

Back to the thread title
I am a firm believer in transparency in finance and politics but for obvious reasons it must start at the bottom. I propose that the IRS post every income tax return on the web.

This is a ridiculous, unworkable, and unAmerican plan.
It accomplishes nothing--except to cause problems:
Identity theft
Loss of privacy
Interpersonal difficulties
And for what?
There's not a single good reason to do it.
BTW...your "brilliant idea" is being tried in Norway.
It has been a spectacular failure.

I think the arrogancy and loonacy of this administration is quite transparent!
