Another, grammar gotcha moment by the "king of grammar!" It is so sad that all you have time to do, as well as spend your time doing, is to correct those of us who are below you with the application of English grammar and spelling!

I happen to have WhiteSmoke to do my correcting, so please stop wasting your energy on me! Like those with whom I disagree with on scripture, you are wasting your time!

Actually it wasn't a grammatical mistake on your part; just a basic vocabulary mistake.
    You're being redundant.
Well, it's not working for you.
It's a breeze. No problem --happy to help you.

TCassidy..., with all due respect please show me where Jesus followed anyone down the road trying to convince them of anything. All that I am aware of is He told of the Way, the Truth and the Life and then moved on. Those en-masse who wanted to hear more followed Him. I think we often do an injustice by trying to convince. Only the Holy Spirit can convict.

Caring for the souls of the lost is "arrogant?" Are you really that cold and uncaring about the lost? :(

I am sorry but that is just a stupid question.

It is all in with God's way, not yours. Not mine. God's. I am astounded that you claim the Name of Christ are don't understand that. :(

Oh Tom...... I loved that answer you just gave. I pray to the Almighty that he would deliver a pastor to my community that "Doctrine is Important"..... what I get is, "We don't teach Doctrine Here!" .... Shakes head....sometimes I believe I am at the epicenter of the end of the world!!!

I have a preacher friend who told me, "Doctrine divides!"

He is right. Doctrine divides Truth from Error.

    Doctrine divides Right from Wrong.

    Doctrine divides Heresy from Orthodoxy.

    :)

Paul frequently tried to convince people. He did so every time he went to the temple and he did so when he spoke of the unknown god.

True. A few examples from Acts (there are more):
18:4 : And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and tried to persuade Jews and Greeks...
28:23 : testifying to the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus...

@Rippon, of course he did. To those who came to listen he preached his heart out.

The only point I am trying to make here is that what-ever one's persuasion is on any article of the Bible is their take on it and there isn't much another can do to change them. Jesus also told the truth to those who would listen but he didn't chase anyone down.
