For centuries the use of the word “fallen” has been used as one engaging in sin.
Perhaps the use it is best seen in Psalms 37:
The NKJ gives a really good translation, too.
23The steps of a man are established by the LORD,
And He delights in his way.
24When he falls, he will not be hurled headlong,
Because the LORD is the One who holds his hand.
23The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord,This is one of the verses in which one may find securing the preservation and perseverance of the saints.
And He delights in his way.
24Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down;
For the Lord upholds him with His hand.
One may certainly stumble and even for a time “fall” into sinfulness, but the redeemed will repent and the Lord will cleanse.
When are names written in the Lamb's book of life?
