I tend to believe the book of Acts. "What hinders me from being baptized?" "If you believe with all your heart, you may." "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." And Philip baptized him.

Ron wants to be baptized along with his teenaged grandson - both professing Christian men. They will be baptized in June. The ice and winter melt will be gone by then and these two men will be fixing up the spot in the creek and clearing the brush from the bank beforehand.

I'd go with the same requirements that we came up with for our children: When they can articulate their faith clearly, then it's time to baptize them. :)

The kids understood but in a very basic way. They were between 4 and 5 years old and I knew they were truly saved. They had faith and had changed hearts - but it took them a little time of maturing to be able to explain what happened. But there is no question they were saved. They are now 9, 11, 19 and 21 and all continue to love the Lord and walk with Him. I have no questions about their salvation. :) -
I voted "other". It should be after conversion, of course. But it should be left up to the one who gave their hand to decide when they want to be laid in their "liquid grave".
