Yes, there is no salvation outside the church that the Holy Spirit calls despite statements to the contrary by many modern theologians.
Where is the church?

Hi Helen,
You quoted Genesis 1:27 concerning our being made in the image of God to support your idea that we're primarily spiritual beings. Has the thought ever crossed your mind that our physical nature is also created in the image of God? If you would have quoted the rest of the verse, it includes this: "male and female he created them" (*Hint* the marital covenant signifies for us the reality of the eternal life of the Blessed Trinity).
I know, I know.. you're right "no matter what" and there is no edification that can come from the Bible through a Catholic's mouth and into your ears. You're simply not going to let me win this one, are you? Of course not. ;)
You wrote, "I can almost feel my spirit reaching up while I can guarantee my body is in the process of turning back into the dust from which it came -- and, to be honest with you, a little faster than I had expected."
So.. we're essentially entrapped spirits? Uh uh. Look back in the New Testament hon. We're a composite of body and soul. We were created with bodies, and our redemption entails the resurrection of the flesh. Jesus' body, after the resurrection, is the same body that suffered and died on the cross, and it is this glorified flesh, which he offers for us perpetually before the Father in heaven at this very moment as both priest and victim.
Check out who's on first in Heaven.. killer lamb: "The lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has triumphed... a Lamb that seemed to have been slain" (Revelation 5) -
For if I have not an organization, I can still have Jesus Christ, but some
seem to think that they cannot have Jesus Christ without first having the
"Organization"..........OR that Jesus Christ comes via the Organization. -
Were you a rebellious child also, Singer? Seems like no one can tell you what to do, can they? Do you pay your taxes? Obey the speed limits? Keep the local ordinances in your township? I wonder. You seem like your whole attitude in life is just "Leave me alone. I am God of my life and I will jolly well do whatever I please and the heck with the rest of you people"
Very sad.
God's kingdom is set up as a family. A family is a hierarchial structure with rules and regulations for its smooth order and running. The father (covenant head) over the family, dispenses his authority as he sees fit. Normally, the mother (covenantal helpmeet) is the second in command, bearing the authority of the father and ruling in his stead when he is gone. To disobey the mother is to disobey the father because of their "one flesh" relationship.
On occasion, due to some circumstance, perhaps the eldest son will take charge of the covenant relationship called family. But again, there is still hierarchy, rules and regulations, and authority.
The kingdom is a family. God is Father. He is the Head over all creation. In the physical realm which He created, the Son is the Head over the New Covenant family which is the Church, His Bride, that organism with which He is "one flesh".
In His absence from this physical realm, and in order that men might have clear direction of life, Jesus established a covenantal family here on earth which represents the covenant family in Heaven. It is not by accident that the Church is referred to in the feminine. It is not by accident that the leader of the Church is called "The Holy Father". These are terms of covenant headship and covenant helpmeet.
The office of the Holy Father is given the charism of infallibility in matters of morality and theology so as to be a perfect covenantal head in leading the Church in those areas. The Church, with her bishops and priests, is the covenant helpmeet to the Holy Father to raise up covenant children and bring them to perfection. It is just like the family in Heaven, and just like a nuclear family.
Keep it up, man. You are just diggin' yerself in deeper and deeper. I have said it before and say it again -- rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and the more you discourse with us here on this forum, the less pleading to ignorance you will be able to do in the Judgment Day before Christ your Judge. Knowledge carries with it a very heavy burden of responsibility. Instead of jumping at us with those kneejerk reactions like you do, you should take some of the good things that have been given to you and go "chew on 'em" for a while. -

Actually I was quite a model child, except that at age 14 I rebelled against
the cult I was raised in and refused to attend and participate in the
requirements that would make me a model cultist. I sought and found
peace within my soul that comes with the Holy Spirit when we dutifully
fulfill the only requirement that begins this journey. It is found in St John
6:29... This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he has sent.
That is something that you (fortunately) had before you denied the fulfillment
of the spirit that was given you and went on your journey to please God.......
resulting in where you are now. My sympathy is with you; and my wonderment
in how you intend to please God. Have you heard of the words atonement
and propitiation ? Excuse me, but I don't think you're capable of appeasing
God's anger upon the human race.
Concerning the hierarchy that you speak of CC; someone has sold you on a theory
that supposes the Holy Spirit is not able to operate in the world today without the
graces of the RCC. Your hidden truths that you attept to expound on are so hidden
that they are not even evident in the bible without some prejudical interpretation.

Same type of warnings I heard from my own cult. Guess we each have our own.
Just did some reading in the forum from this 2x2 sect and see constant mention of
bipolar, depression, and "pulling away''. The management strives to bring back those
lost sheep who have strayed away from "the fold". Their prayers and purpose is to
enlarge the number of their ranks from the depths of hell. Their witness and their
missions are centered around converting other christians into something that is impossible.
With sincerity, they pray to establish rightstanding with God; and many do so with no
credit given to the uniqueness of their worship or their organization. You mention my
rebellion and my pleading of ignorance in the judgement???......they warn of the same thing,
big guy.
If you really think God will judge me for not adhering to the likes of Catholicism, then
I also have to assume he will take out his anger upon my rebellion against these 2x2s,
the Mormon Church, the Jw's, SDAs, Moonies, Islam, and 20,000 other denominations.
I'm in a world of hurt ain't I ?
)
p.s.
But then I don't look to the following of manmade rules and regulations, memberships,
chants, hails, etc. as my saviour.
My sympathy to YOU , CC. -
