There are many, many hotbeds around the world, and it wouldn't take all that much to ignite a world war. The question is WHERE?

China and Tiawan, or Japan and China, look ripe for some action. The two Koreas are always potentials for bullet's flying.

Now we have a possiblity of Russia wanting to reassemble the old Soviet Union, and that could ignite in a NATO led war.

Of course Iran and Israel can go any minute.

So, what are your thoughts on this, and if a world war does break out, where and when do you see it happening ... and more importantly will the USofA be in the middle of it, will we continue to remain in under the dome of isolationism ... that Obama is creating?

Unless the war directly endangers the domestic tranquility, common defence, or general welfare of the US she needs to stay on the road to isolationism no matter where war break out. Isolationism used to be a good thing.

If we had had more 'isolationists' in office for the last 65 years the US would be in much better shape and a lot of families would have been spared the grief of losing a child in a needless war.

I don't think the EU has the stomach for war. China/China doesn't seem volatile enough. Pakistan/India? Maybe - but this brinkmanship has been going on for ages.

The Middle East is a powder keg because of oil. That would be my best guess.

Fixed it for you, but otherwise I agree whole-heartedly.

Isolationism? That's a good one.

Washington has us involved in 79 active interventions around the world some of them overtly some of them covertly. We have military bases all over the globe and we have a budget of 820 billion dollars for the military which doesn't include the cost of past wars (if they can be called that) like Iraq nor does it include the cost of taking care of the veterans of these wars nor does it include all the money (foreign aid)Washington will dole out to it's long list of friendly dictatorships and radical Islamic and fascist proxies it uses as destabilization forces around the world.

Seems to me that the people who use the word "isolationism" the most are the same ones that are first to jump on the bandwagon when Washington seeks to isolate another country by barking out ultimatums and imposing sanctions and trade restrictions on them for not following Washington's orders.

We aren't suffering from a lack of interventions into other's affairs. We're suffering from to much and to many interventions into other's affairs.

I peruse a number of websites everyday as I look for interesting articles to post or reference in one of my articles. I agree with many conservative leaning websites when it comes to economic issues, but when it comes to war mongering and wave flagging, I go my own way. Any site that supports our empire building and excessive spending on war is not a conservative website. You can’t act in a fiscally responsible sustainable manner without dismantling our war machine and taking on the military industrial complex. You’re a faux fiscal conservative if you think we can continue to spend $800 billion per year on war with no financial implications. The entire Federal budget was $800 billion in 1983.

The latest storyline being propagandized by Mad Dog McCain and his band of merry neo-cons is that Obama’s latest defense budget will gut our military and make us susceptible to attack from all of our enemies. The mainstream media mouthpieces like Fox News repeat these boldfaced lies without seeking facts or real data. The power of the military industrial complex is dangerous to our citizens. They have bought off Republicans and Democrats in Congress and they control journalists who get paid to write scary articles about the horrific budget cuts and danger to our nation. It’s all lies. Spineless corrupt politicians like Bush and Obama do and say whatever is necessary to win the most votes. Statesmen like Dwight D. Eisenhower stood up to the military industrial complex and their bought off lackeys in Congress.

We're already involved in some world wars, the "war on terrorism" and the "war on drugs" and the global the war for "American preeminence" otherwise known as the neocon induced "New American Century" and we're losing all of them badly, maybe. I guess it depends on who you are in the political/economic scheme of things.

The global banks, corporations and military industrial complex are raking in record profits from them and politicians will get a steady flow of campaign contributions from those making out like bandits but the average citizen whether in America or any other country that we have an "intervention" taking place only gets to suffer the wounds and pay the costs.
