Which is better, the NKJV or the Niv 2011?

    2011 NIV and it ain't even close.

    And by what measurements do you base these statements on? What makes you think the NIV 2011 is best for devotionals and the NASB/NKJV are better for serious studies? I have both the 2011 NIV and the NASB and love them both. I think both are good for either/and devotional and serious studying.

    I am looking for to the updated 2019 NASB and see if its better.

    It's just a small thing, but very irritating.
    In Isaiah 55:1, there are three calls to come, but the NIV manages to find four. The first word is not 'come,' it is a call for attention, 'Ho!' 'Hey!' Or 'hoy!' would all do splendidly. It is the cry of the market vendor to gain the attention of the crowd.

    So, when I preach on this chapter in a couple of weeks' time, do I lie and say there are four 'comes'-- in which case I would come under the just condemnation of @Rippon? Or do I waste time explaining why the NIV has it wrong?
