well, that's not surprising. They left the Baptists.
But why not base it on the Holy Scripture and come to a agreement in unity on belief for all Baptist, would that not be the most simple way. And God be given the glory for His truth rather than every preacher and minister with a certificate from a school of theology of here or there.
Its how it is interpreted.
For example, the Bible says that a pastor is to be the husband one wife.
Some say that means one wife for life - others take it as one at a time.
Thus - it is not that simple - and that goes for many doctrines.
For years, the Seventh Day Adventists embraced pro-abortion guidelines 'based on Holy Scripture and came to agreement in unity' with their General Conference.
SDA hospitals and abortion mills still slice and dice babies up every day and claim they are doing God's work.
Is this what you mean?
So a person who goes to a Baptist church and becomes a member can believe anything the minister preaches from the pulpit, but then what of Gods Word, if he is compelled to follow the truths it shows him, and it differs from what is taught by the minister, then what. Is he no longer a Baptist... Belief is more than just a name or being listed in a church registry....
