"He is called the "The everlasting Father"."
This term actually means "the father of eternity." I gave resources for this before on yet another thread on the trinity in this forum.
Besides, since God is spirit and Jesus incarnated in the flesh and is in a resurrected body, Jesus and God cannot be the same person. God the Father is spirit, period. He does not have a body as Jesus does.
Jesus is NOT God the Father. I don't think I will give all the other reasons as I already went through all that on another thread in this forum several weeks ago.

Col.2:8-10
8) Beware lest any man spoil you through philosphy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9) For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10) And ye are complete in him, which is the head of of all principality and power.

So God, who is spirit, appeared in a body, and then went back to heaven without it? This is not what we are taught in the Bible. Jesus ascended to heaven in his resurrected body. He did not cast if off. His body was part of his humanity. The Oneness view would have us believe that God took on this body temporarily and now is spirit again -- this is like docetism.
The Trinity is 3 beings in one Godhead but it is not 3 gods. But we've been through that several times here, always with the same people, so you should know all the arguments by now. -
Marcia that is just so true. Isn't it amazing to think that Christ permanently gave himself a body just to have fellowship with us. That he redeemed us at the cost of forever having piercings in his side feet and hands! (the resurrected body still had holes in which Thomas felt). That is the most poweful sign of love, that is the most powerful sacrifice
-
Marcia,
Immanuel = God with us. Sounds like you limit God to what He can and does do. Is anything too difficult for Him? -

God does not anything against His nature as far as answering your question. -
MEE, if Jesus is in heaven in a resurrected body, how then is GOD the Father spirit without a body if you believe Jesus is God the Father?
1. Is Jesus in heaven in a resurrected body now?
2. Is God the Father spirit?
3. IF Jesus is God the Father, how do you reconcile this? -
Marcia,
1Cor. 8:6 "there is but one God, the Father.."
Isaiah "Lord is our Father, our Redeemer"
1Timothy 3:16 "God manifest in flesh"
Putting it together results in the one God, the Father who is our Redeemer, manifesting in flesh in order to fulfill His plan of salvation and to show mankind the way(Our model, example).
Marcia, what form is the resurrected body of Jesus? -

yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.Click to expand...
Jesus is in a resurrected physical body, the one he ascended in.
Jesus is God in the flesh but he is not God the Father.
I posted in this thread or previous threads many verses where Jesus refers to His Father and speaks and prays to His Father. Jesus is NOT God the Father. God the Father is NOT the HS. The HS is NOT Jesus. -
Marcia,
The LORD is God and God is the LORD. God is the Father and the LORD is the Father.
Isaiah 63:16 "Doubtless thou art our Father, though Abraham be ignorant of us, and Israel acknowledge us not: thou O LORD, art our Father, our Redeemer; thy name is from everlasting."
Are you sure Jesus is in a resurrected physical body?
1Cor. 15:50 "Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption." Verse 53 "mortal must put on immortality."
Philippians 3:21 "who shall change our vile body(physical) that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." -
Here is a question I have for those who claim a oneness theology. How do you deal with Matthew 12: 31-32?
"Therefore I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come."
Seems clear here that Jesus is drawing a distinction between Himself and the Holy Spirit.

The "glorious body" in Phil 3 is the resurrected body we will have as believers. In fact, this passage tells us that our bodies will be like the resurrected body of Jesus. Jesus resurrected body was physical and ours shall be, too.
This is one of the most basic, central beliefs of Christianity. -
Tony,
Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is the inability of recognizing Him as the Spirit. Those who say they know, worship and love Jesus at the same time fail to recognize His true identity.
How do you explain it seeing that the Holy Spirit and Son are co-equal according to the trinity doctrine?
Marcia,
I'm not sure a physical body can appear and disappear at will. -

Do we have to understand God are can we like children believe what He say even if we do not understand it?
Or does your God have to fit into the box of your undersanding?
