"Judicial Philosophy
Supports the originalist approach to constitutional analysis, which urges judges to interpret the Constitution in accordance with the understandings of its framers."
I don't think we can ask for anything else from a SCOTUS justice - to apply the understanding of the framers of the original constitution and the amendments thereto.
Even if I don't agree with a justice's decision as long as that is the framework he works with I can be satisfied. -
I am curious, did you ever read what David Brock wrote about Thomas? Remember when he wrote that book The Real Anita Hill? -
No, I sure didn't.
Joseph Botwinick -
How about Michael Moore or Al Franken? How about Hillary Rodham Clinton or John Kerry?
(Ducking) -
What about them? They lost the last election. Now, they get to sit on the sidelines and cry like a bunch of babies about it. :D
Joseph Botwinick -
Yeah, I was kidding!!
However, can you imagine Michael Moore on the Supreme Court? LOL
He'd have to lose the baseball cap. Doesn't go with the robes. -
IMO, our country would be in trouble with Michael Moore or Al Franken on the bench.

I sent the president the following letter yesterday:
-
A great letter, Joseph!
Here's what I emailed President back on July 1:
Dear President Bush,
I would like to encourage you to nominate a solid conservative for the U.S. Supreme Court vacancy. I think that someone like Michael McConnell would fit the bill quite nicely.
Please do not nominate someone considered to be a moderate, especially on the social issues that will come before the court. One of the main reasons that conservatives voted for you in 2000 and in 2004 was to place conservative justices on the U.S. Supreme Court. I am afraid that if you fail to do so that it would tear the Republican Party apart and cause the liberal Democrats to reclaim both houses of Congress in 2006 and the presidency in 2008.
There are millions and millions of us who are prepared to support your nomination of a conservative justice to the U.S. Supreme Court and to help you push him or her successfully through the U.S. Senate confirmation process. Please don't buckle to the complaints of the liberals and we will stand with you in this effort.
Sincerely yours,
Ken Hamilton
El Dorado, Arkansas -
Both of you, Ken and Joseph, wrote excellent letters. But I am not holding my breath that he will nominate true conservatives. Don't want to debate this, but that's my opinion. So time will tell what he thinks of his base on the basis of his nominations.
-
LE,
Have you written your letter yet?
Joseph Botwinick -
Yes, I wrote my letter recommending Judge Roy Moore.
