Ken,
We're not pulling out of Iraq. We're not leaving the Middle East. We don't have control of Eurasia yet.
When we get to Uzbekistan and control all that area, then we can declare victory and introduce a timetable for the drawdown of occupation troops. if people are still whining about it in 10 or 20 years. After all, that was the goal at the start of the GWOT (control all of Eurasia) that and the installation of the global police state. And if by then the GWOT hasn't gone nuclear then we'll have to fight wars with China and Russia.
Think the Russians and Chinese read Foreign Affairs too? How about that PNAC, think the Russians and Chinese take their website serious?
Read the neocon/cfr plans for global domination. They are available on a website near you. PNAC. -
The liberation of Iraq is almost miraculous, in the # of soldiers we've lost, and for extremely good reasons, with the result of saving probably millions of lives into a society that the people will have a far better chance at hearing the Gospel of salvation. -

Setting a timetable is not a good war fighting decision. It is unnecessary to the mission and encourages the enemy to hold out just a little longer to suit the timetable, whatever it is.
A timetable is purely a political gambit.
By getting Bush to set a timetable, democrats believe it gives them a political advantage. Keep to the timetable and they pat themselves on the back. Have a reversal of some kind and alter the timetable in any way, time to complain as stridently as possible about not keeping the commitment.
It's all a political game that puts our troops and our mission at risk. -
I never like the loss of U.S. soldiers or those of our allies.
I like it when terrorists are killed. The more the better.
Civilians die in wars. We do what we can to minimize the loss of civilian lives, which is certainly not something that the terrorists do. -
1. No war has ever been adaquately prepared for. There are always surprises and changes of plans. It's war, not patty cakes.
2. Vietnam was lost for one reason and one reason only: We cut and run and gave up. Apparently, that was totally acceptable to you then and it will be totally acceptable to you for us to lose another war. This whole timetable idea is like if Houston Nutt would have announced before each game this year against real opponets that the Razorbacks were going to give up a little bit into the 3rd quarter. This one will have some dire consequences in the long run if we listen to you and lose by forfeit.
3. Nobody jumps up and down and cheers when US and ally soldiers are killed (with the exception of anti-war radicals like Ward Churchill and Michael Moore). But, if we are to use this standard to decide whether or not we fight a war and continue fighting the war till we win, it won't be long before our nation looks more like France who cannot even put down a riot in the center of its tourism attractions (Paris).

If Bush continues this course without a withdrawal plan then the GOP will lose the Congress next November and he will be in deep trouble when the Democrats use their power in 2007 to impeach him like the Republicans did to Clinton. -
He has an exit strategy. It just isn't acceptable to the cut and runners who want us to lose the war.
Joseph Botwinick -
We already won the war. Saddam Hussein is in jail.
-
That is not the end of the war. You know better. You know what the exit strategy is. You just don't like it.

The war with al Qaeda continues worldwide.
The Iraq War to depose Saddam Hussein ended long ago. -

The military industrialists and elite globalists make their money from starting, dragging out and losing wars. This one is no different. -
Poncho,
I don't read nor give any credence to looney tune nutcase conspiricy theory websites. Maybe a Democrat can read that and use it in their next Anti-American propaganda campaign.

I certainly hope we have people in our country and the rest of the countries of the world looking ahead. The chances for war increase when policy planners incorrectly anticipate how other countries will react, e.g. Saddam Hussein in 1990 and Osama bin Laden in 2001. -
Poncho is right to the core...greed is alive and
well in this world and especially in the incompetent management and billions missing and
mis spent in Iraq.
War profiterring is for real and people make money off of war and greed breeds more greed and
how can I keep this war going in my behalf.
imho
