Why Christians Should Refuse To Celebrate Women Fighting

Oh, OK to send Christians to war into Germany, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan to be killed but not into an MMA ring to fight for sport.

Yeah. You really need to be told the reason?

I understand what you are saying but it is difficult as a parent to not celebrate my daughter's achievement.
She is 3rd in the world for her weight class as a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) professional.

Congrats to you and your daughter!

Yes.

Inflicting injury on another for sport is incompatible with a lifestyle of moderation, and a misuse of one's vessel. A "striker" is disqualified from the office of bishop, and Christ commanded his disciples to be harmless . . .

Since this is a discussion board, yeah, it would be nice. And please use 21st century English.
. . . yo.

Then that would include other competitive sports soccer, rugby, football and other sports in which injury and even death occurs.

Yes it is a tough sport but it is primarily the art of self defense to give an edge over the evil predator.

Also your interpretation would disqualify all law enforcement personnel, military men and veterans and any one owning a firearm for defense of family.

The passage to which you presumably are referring.

1 Timothy 3:3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
Striker - Grk. plektes -
Friberg 04221 a pugnacious person, a bully, a quarrelsome person.

Whether you want to believe it or not my daughter is none of those things above.

In fact one of her motivating factors was to learn as a female after certain unpleasant experiences to protect herself from just those kind of individuals or predators or worse.

She also teaches women and children in the art of self defense of predators lurking in our society.

One well placed non-lethal defensive blow will disable a predator but it takes skill to know how to release and defend.

Yes trust in the LORD and use wisdom but as we all know the innocent are sometimes allowed to suffer at the hands of predators.

The art (or wisdom) of self defense will very often avert such evil attacks and does not qualify one being a "striker" IMO.

Then there is the second amendment.
