While the SCOTUS ruling is a slap in the face of Christians in this nation and is allowing an abomination to God occur, should we as Christians really wonder how this could happen! If we were to take a poll of how many churches have a Wednesday night service still there would be very few to answer in the affirmative. How about a Sunday Night service again very few would answer in the affirmative. There are 8760 hours in a year and if you made 1 Sunday Morning service every week that would be 52 hours. So .60% of your year would be spent serving God at worship on Sunday morning! Say you attend Sunday School too every Sunday. That would 104 hours a year, or 1.19% of your time a year. Now a little further if you were to attend SS, SM, Sunday night for an hour each that would be 156 hours a year or 1.78% of you time. Finally let’s ay you attended all these and a Wednesday Night service that would be 208 hours a year you give to God which is 2.37% of your time set apart to God. Yet People are too busy for Sunday School, barely make Sunday Morning Worship, have other things to do Sunday Evening and Wednesday Evening too busy for God and only give to God .60% of your annual life.
WE wonder why our nation has turned from God it is because Christians have. Think about it like this if you gave 10% of your time to God just 10% that would be 876 hours a year.
You spend sleeping if you get a full 8 hours in 1095 hours or 12.5%. 40 hours a week working would be 2080 hours at work or 23.74% at work. Now if we add 1 hour a week for church to your work and sleep, that would be 3227 hours a year or 36.84% of your time leaving 5533 free time or 63.16%.
If we say you attend 4 services a week, you would still have 5377 left or 61.838% and we wonder why our nation is in such a state as it is in. We fail to study and spend time in prayer we fail to attend Church like we did that those my age did in our youth. Maybe if we would see more dedicated true Christians we would see God’s blessing and less of God’s discipline upon our nation. Some Christians give that time and more but I believe the majority have failed God and God is not pleased.

I wish American "Christians" would stop trying to use Christian and American synonymously.
Who cares if a court of unbelievers allows unbelievers to act like unbelievers?
Why do Christians feel shocked when sinful men sin, when God says they are slaves to sin?
OMG !! They're acting according to their nature, and have been given over to a reprobate mind. Let's all sit around and wonder how that could be.
What did Paul wrote? -----> and such were some of you. But you've been washed. -
Amen!!
We got where we are in part because a bunch of folks who fancy themselves to be evangelical Christians have forgotten how to love. They spend more time coming up with conspiracies and reasons to excoriate a President and anyone who doesn't see things the way they do.
So instead of the fragrance of Christ, we exude the fragrance of death.
So if we're pointing them to death instead of Christ, why are we surprised that wickedness seems to be on the increase as our love wanes?

It is as it should be. I only hope that now we can see the Church being the Church rather than merely reflecting the culture. If anything good can come of this, I believe that this is the "silver lining," and all things work for the good.

Bake the cake or you and your business will be destroyed. Cater the wedding or be destroyed. Let us use your church for our wedding or be destroyed. Your pastor will marry us or be sued/imprisoned. Be "open-minded" or be crushed.
Ah, the face of tolerance. -

1Peter 2:21
Such a shame that preachers and other supposedly "learned" believers don't understand the scriptures concerning this....or care more about fleshly things than spiritual things -
So what if this country was founded by people who are now dead? Can one generation mandate the spiritual condition of those who come later? This country is chocked full of unbelievers who are slaves to sin.
I feel sorry for the flock who is being misled by you. -
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof
The most likely action(s) would be taken by the IRS in the removal of tax exempt status. If that happens.... -
Let them take IRS tax exempt status. Maybe then some preachers will cease to be invertebrates and start preaching.

I wonder if churches need to take steps to modify their constitution so that the pastor(s) is(are) not making some statement of refusal as a matter of personal belief (whether it is or not).
The constitution (and statement of faith) would allow for a more precise and document supported argument when challenged in the legal system because there would certainly be specific Scriptures attached. For the courts to bring an argument, they would then have to discredit the Scripture application, too.
Otherwise, the question is merely a person's own prejudicial outlook as head of a corporation and that prejudicial stand can be attacked both in the press and the legal system.
It is one thing for a pastor to say, "I personally don't marry ..." and quite another for a corporate body to have in their constituted laws "we do not allow staff to perform nor do we recognize the validity of marriages ..." -

Christ didn't command is to sit in church (though it is important, and I get your point ) he commanded us to go out INTO the world and spread the Gospel. -

I've said it before and I'll say it again, looking to the United States Government for spiritual and moral guidance is an exercise in futility. -
